I like how the applications are handled!
I like that it stays on the list of apps screen when it goes to sleep instead of going back to the time screen.I really like that it stays on the screen of apps that you had scrolled down to instead of going back to the top of the list of apps.I REALLY like that it stays on which app you have selected even after an extended time out when it goes black! Here is my test that a lot of smart watches fail. Playing my mp3s from my âSamsung Musicâ app on my phone. I wear Bluetooth hearing aids and I listen to my music through my hearing aids. If I want to pause, replay, or skip a song or change the volume, it is a pain to get my phone out, so I want to control it on the watch. How easy is it to âraise to wakeâ and there is the watchâs âMusicâ app ready for me to do any of those things! The heart rate and SpO2 are in line with my Fingertip Pulse Oximeter.Thank you Zururu for NOT having blood pressure measuring!! I have NEVER had a smart watch even come remotely close to the correct reading I get with my âOmronâ Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitorâ! They are smart enough to say âIf you can not do it correctly, do not do it at allâ!!

This watch is only a small part of a complete fitness tracker system.
Caveat Emptor! I’m not a techie. I do exercise on a very irregular basis and would like to see results of my efforts to hold on to a degree of fitness! So this simple watch looked like my answer. Nope! Nothing in the description mentioned Blue Tooth or Smart Phone and I have neither. But the instructions that come with the watch clearly state that those are required to get maximum performance from the watch. Then, trying to get the watch to hold still was a challenge! Couldn’t set the time easily, never did get the date set, etc. I finally, after many failures, and purchasing the proper recharging block, got the functions to show up on the face of the watch and now know how many steps I’ve taken today. And my heart rate! The instructions are confusing at best and, for a non-techie like me, impossible to interpret. Oh! I finally got the date set (don’t really know how I did that) AND, after googling SpO2 learned that my oxygen uptake is normal. Yay! So, I certainly would have appreciated some little statement on their website like “By the way, you’ll need Blue Tooth, a charging block, and a Smart Watch” and that would have stopped my consideration of this instrument as a fitness tool. Well, I think, for the price, just under forty bucks, it will give me some direct info as to my fitness activity and that’s really all I need. So, for anyone who is technically proficient, this is probably a good buy. For me, it’s both a source of confusion and a record of my fitness. You can’t win them all!

Many good features
I think this is a good, inexpensive smart watch/fitness tracker. I have been using it for several months and I actually like it better than my Fitbit Charge 5. If you want detailed pros and cons, keep reading:PROS:1. It has a BUTTON to turn on the screen or get back to the home screen. It also turns on when you rotate your wrist. My Charge 5 does not have a button and I can only get the screen to come on about half the time. I look like a maniac slapping my watch and flapping my arms. Thank you, Zururu, for an old fashioned button that works!2. The software is free forever. Fitbit has a free version, but they put the fancy features behind a paywall after a few months. The Zururu software is basic, but at least you don’t feel like you are missing out on something. Its no fun to pay a premium price for a device and then have to keep paying to use all the features.3. It has more smartwatch features than my Charge 5. I can turn music on and off, ready my texts (albeit, teeny tiny) and even activate my camera remotely. I find all of these things useful, though you may not.4. I find it comfortable to wear and easy to set up. There are several watch faces to choose from. It is easy navigate, and I can put all the stuff I most want to see on the watch face, like the time, date and my heart rate.5. Unlike the Charge 5, you can check your dissolved oxygen level at any time. The Charge 5 only does this while you sleep and then provides a summary. For the advanced data, guess what, I think you have to pay.6. The sleep monitoring seems pretty good, although I am still dubious about the value of sleep monitoring in wearables. Generally speaking, I know how much I slept and how well I slept when I wake up. The dissolved oxygen value on the Zururu is, however, much easier to find and understand than on my Fitbit. You can see the exact time of any dips for any day or night.CONS – and some are really annoying:1. The Zururu regularly freaks out when charging and starts flashing a bright green light to try to find your pulse. Sometimes, it starts buzzing. It is bright enough to wake you up if you charge it overnight. If you take it off, it will continue to do this periodically until you put it back on. Putting it face down does not seem to help.2. The Zururu cannot do an EKG like the Fitbit. It does not have the finger sensors.3. The exercise options are very limited and I have never been able to get the GPS to work. If you want a tracker that shows your route, elevation etc, you’ll need to look elsewhere or try connecting the Zururu to Google Fit or WeRun. I have not done this. I don’t want to share that much about my health on the Cloud.4. I cannot get it to stop tracking steps when I am riding my horse even if I tell it I am on a bicycle. Same issue in the Fitbit. Irritating as heck.5. You cannot check the time while exercising. If you try to go back to the home screen to see the clock, you have to end your activity and then restart it. REALLY!?6. The calorie count is for calories burned during exercise and the goal is set to 250. I found this a tough adjustment from the Fitbit which tells you all the calories it thinks you have burned including your basal metabolism. If you are trying to calculate total calories in and total calories out, the watch doesn’t help. On days when I don’t exercise, it might say 10 calories for the whole day.7. The health measurements are not really continuous. The value you see on the dial is an average, but I don’t know how it is calculated. If you want to know your current heart rate and SpO2, you have to swipe left and wait for about 30 seconds or so (or press health measurement in the app and wait). On things like the size and battery life, the Zururu seems about average. The battery lasts about as long as my Fitbit, but since I can’t get the GPS to work, I don’t use it to track my workouts so its hard to compare. I hope you found this review helpful!

Works Great
Definitely works and expected and paired easily with my Samsung phone. Holds a charge and read my vitals well. I have a small wrist and it fits comfortably.

Pretty cool for a basic smart watch. Takes blood pressure.
The timer function leaves something to be desired. You have to set the custom timer each time, doesnât save it. So youâre left with the preset timers, none of which is a pomodoro! Furthermore, the timer keeps the watch screen awake and you canât do anything else while itâs running. There are no color filter functions for the screen, so thereâs a lot of blue light coming out of it for those concerned with circadian rhythm. The fonts and display design is not as bad as the photos in the amazon listing, however, they leave something to be desired. Also find the navigation to be confusing and the icons are not as self-explanatory as youâd like from a watch that relies on icons rather than words for navigation. It does take blood pressure though, and measures steps, so for that Iâm happy with it. Iâm not sold on wearables yet, so for those who want the bare minimum I think this watch is a good entry point. And you can check messages on it. It also paired easily.
