    Great work out.
I’ve only been doing yoga for about 5 months.I have several yoga videos and so far Rodney Yee is by far my favorite instructor. I use his Yoga for Beginners every single day, doing the morning and night exercise. I use this video about once or twice a week. It is an excellent, hard, but doable work out. Sometimes I can’t get myself to commit to the hour the full practice takes. But when I do I don’t have any back, or knee pain for 2 days. I don’t consider myself an athlete, but I do play basketball a couple of times a week. Because of work I spend a lot of time sitting in a cubical. The stretches and positions in this video help me stay limber, flexible, and strong so when I do go play basketball I don’t pull a muscle due to other muscles being tight or week.I can’t recommend this video enough. If you are starting yoga and are only buying 1 video, get Rodney Yee Yoga for Beginners. Once you see how great yoga can be, and what a good instructor Rodney Yee is you won’t hesitate to get this video.

he’s super clear on when you should be breathing and how …
I teach yoga and everybody always asks me what they can do on their own for instruction. This is always my recommendation. I gift this bc I have my own. This has a three part series, you can do the whole video or the breakdowns individually; series that are either done with chair, floor and/or standing. He also does a voice over so, he’s super clear on when you should be breathing and how you should move without the distraction of actually speaking and moving, which makes it hard sometimes to be clear on what you should be doing. He also has two others showing varying levels of modification which is very important if you have limitations or are new to yoga. This is the best overall yoga instruction for home use I have ever used and its been around for years now, and I still reccommend it. Very well done

    Beyond good
Love Rodney Yee. I do several of his videos and have for years. I wanted to get my hubby to do yoga as part of his running training. He is a masters runner. Time for more “triaining” is a issue. This video has 7 min. mini routines that are sport specific. Yes a 7 min. routine can be very beneficial. He loves it. I went through the video first and the longer routine is very nice too. One part is approx. 34 min. and the other is around 25 min. So if you do the entire practice its a big chunk of time. Right now he is doing the 7 min. practice 3-5 days a week and on the first day he noticed a difference in how his legs felt when he ran. This video also gives great direction on how to modify for different levels of flexibility. It is a very good yoga video.

    power yoga review
This is the first yoga dvd i have bought and the first yoga i have ever done. I think it is a good dvd and quite useful. however, there are mini workouts for specific sports. i think these are useless they simply are some exercises taken from the main program, they are too short and it doesn’t even seem to me that they are specific to that sport. it allows you to watch the other two people doing it as well and says that they focus more on felxibility and strength, however i can not see how they do that they simply do the same thing in easier versions. i prefer and find it most useful just to do the main regular workout. finally the way he talks throughout is extremely annoying, he repeatedly mentions ‘the strength of you legs’ it would be better if he just said do this and then let u hold it till the next move.

    I love yoga…
I love yoga. I do yoga 2-5 times a week (generally depending on how many runs I’ve had).I love Rodney Yee. I have multiple DVDs of his and really enjoy them. This one? not so much. It’s beyond basic, it’s not challenging and I didn’t feel better afterwards (like I usually do with other programs).I think if you have never done yoga before, if you are a beginning athlete it might be helpful but if you’re someone who loves yoga and has done it in the past, this DVD won’t be helpful to you.

Highly recommended for beginners and athletes
Still one of the best yoga videos. I had the VHS, and now that I don’t have a VHS player, I upgraded to the DVD, even after trying a few other options. In the DVD, Gaiam has added promos in the DVD versus the VHS from long ago, so users need to skip through and this can be rather annoying, until you figure out how to skip through. There are three different variations shown throughout the video based on what you feel capable of doing, and Rodney explains the moves, offers tips and guidance. This is well-produced for a variety of users based on what level they’re at, whether just starting out and totally inflexible to athletes winding down, and Rodney gives pointers to ensure you move slowly towards what he is amazingly capable of doing. The stretches seem well rounded, taking into account a broad range of movements that athletes and the everyday person should have flexibility to do to stay strong and limber. And the music and scenery is serene and calming.

    Good for beginners…
This was my first yoga DVD – my sister recommended it because she said some other yoga instructors move through the poses really fast but this instructor holds the poses long enough to get a good stretch.I usually do the stretching or conditioning portion – the strength portion I skip. I like the mini sports workouts too – if I’m pressed for time, I’ll do a couple of those. They are all geared for different sports – most of which I don’t play. The mini “tennis” yoga workout still feels great although I haven’t played tennis in years! So you don’t have to be an athlete to purchase this DVD 🙂 I like that it shows modified moves for those (like me) who are less flexible & can’t put their hands flat on the ground. My mom “borrowed” this DVD a few weeks ago so I think I will just give it to her and get myself another copy. I would like to try another Rodney Yee yoga DVD also….

I bought this DVD to complement my marathon training. I felt that I needed something to balance out the mileage. This DVD has been fantastic for me, someone who has little experience of yoga. The moves were easy to follow and I feel that I have benefited from doing these moves on a semi-regular basis. You can tailor the workouts to your schedule which is essential to me with work, child, and other sporting activities taking up huge chunks of time. I would definitely recommend this!

Une nouvelle video de Rodney Yee toujours aussi didactique et bien conçue pour faire du yoga en toute sécurité et toute sérénité, particulièrement motivante pour les novices en yoga mais par ailleurs sportifs.

I really like this dvd. Id consider myself intermediate level but love to do this 60min all round workout between toughter workouts. I use this dvd after a tough yoga session the night before, find that it give me a nice stretch to loosen out the stiffness. This dvd is suitable for beginners and well as those more advanced that are looking for a nice basic 60min stretch.
