Love these battery lanterns. First shipment cancelled because of something happened in delivery. I ordered them again and 1 was broken. The glass was broken. So I ordered them again and finally have 3. They are nice and pretty also .

Nicer than I hoped for!
This is a very nice outdoor patio lamp. The size is about standard for true lanterns, it is lightweight but has the heft needed to stay put on a table after you insert the two C Size batteries needed (not included). The light is fantastic…it’s on a dimmer switch that rotates clockwise and counterclockwise to adjust the brightness from very dim to very bright light, great variance to set the lighting to precisely your liking. The paint on this is done well and is well coated evenly, not shoddy work whatsoever and looks almost like black lacquer (I bought the black one hence the color). I really liked the fact that the battery compartment is the “old school” battery cover, you just open, insert batteries and close, no screwdriver needed to remove those ridiculously tiny screws they use for battery covers nowadays! All in all, for the price this is even nicer than I hoped for and is a great addition to my patio when sitting out at night. I would buy another if needed or even give a couple as housewarming gifts or summer party hostess gifts!

Very Disappointed!
Purchased one back in May, worked well and looked good on my book shelf. I purchased a second one a few weeks later & it arrived undamaged but I could not get it to work even tried 2 different sets of batteries. I ordered a third one with the intent of returning the second one. Third one arrived undamaged and also did not work. I even made the trip to the store to try new batteries. I do not know if it’s a bulb issue or something else. I was going to return both lamps but decided I’m not paying $7.99 per box to have UPS pick them up and I am not going to take my time and effort to take them to a UPS store. Easier to throw them away and never purchase this product again. Very disappointing considering how much I liked the first one.

This is the cutest little lantern It looks very vintage and authentic. I love the dimmer knob, just like the old oil lanterns. It’s not the brightest. You can’t use it as a reading light, but works great as a navigation light.

I was looking at oil lamps but so many reviews complained about leaking. . so I thought that a battery lamp might be better. . this lamp was perfect. . it looks like an oil lamp. . but it’s powered by 2 D batteries. . . The dimmer works well, and as a decorative piece it is a purchase I am so happy with.The only reason I gave it four stars was because it wasn’t as bright as I hoped it would be, as it is a hurricane lantern and used for utility as well. In addition, the purchase did not include batteries as I hoped; to save time I would make sure that you have D batteries on hand when the delivery comes. Otherwise the lantern is beautiful and worth the purchase!!
