Don’t consider any other leak detector over this one!
I can’t begin to tell you the stress I have over leak detectors. I bought a D-LINK several years ago that was impossible to set up and as of 2023, the company decided that they weren’t going to support the product anymore. This left countless owners out in the cold with an app that no longer supported their detector. So, I had to consider finding a new leak detector system. And, let me tell you, it wasn’t an easy task. I poured through more than a dozen such detectors on Amazon reading reviews that didn’t convince me there was any reliable enough system worth investing my money in……that is until I came to X-Sense. There were some very encouraging Amazon reviews touting this as the best product of its kind with ease of setup and exceptional performance for indicating water leakage.Let me tell you, this product exceeded ALL expectations. To begin with, I was fearing the setup process knowing what I had gone through when I set up my D-LINK.Shortly after purchase, the manufacturer sent me an email with a link to an online doc with what I am assuming was an updated installation guide. This was something I very much appreciated as it showed that the manufacturer was still taking an interest in making certain that its customers had a favorable installation experience. And get this…installation took under 7 minutes and it was completely effortless and flawless. The big thing to keep in mind when installing is that this won’t connect to a 5GHz network, which is what most home routers are outputting. To get around this, all you need to do is create a guest network that generally broadcasts in the preferred 2.5 GHz band that this device needs to connect to.I started with the base installation and which took less than a minute to complete. You simply download the X-Sense app and it walks you through the process. After that, adding any one of the 3 satellite leak detectors takes even less time. You push a button and it connects to the base station. We have a very large home and I was very happy to see that the signal range in which the base and satellites communicate with each other is pretty immense. There has been no problem with a signal loss between devices.Once everything was connected I did a quick test where I placed one of the satellite detectors in my sink and ran a small stream of water. As soon as the water hit the sensors on the bottom of the detector, a loud alarm on the base station went off and a notification was sent to my iPhone. WOW! Could it be THIS EASY?I have never seen something like this come together so easily. It was so effortless to set this up.What you get in the box are one base station and 3 satellite detectors. You also get a power cord and brick for the base station. I would advise centralizing the base location in your home. The app is very good with one major annoyance that has been talked about in other reviews here. The plus is that the app is well laid out and easy to use. It offers a terrific one-glance look at your activated system, its online status, and battery levels. And speaking of batteries, they are easily replaceable. On the downside, I wish the developer would update the app so users are not annoyed by the advertisement to purchase extra protection. It’s fine to read about it once, but I shouldn’t have annoying reminders pop up when using the app. It’s really ruining a perfect experience. Perhaps in an update, the software developer can fix this.Other than that, I am just ecstatic about this purchase. I still can’t believe it took mere minutes to set everything up without any of the errors and hassles one expects from these products. If you are looking for the perfect leak detector system, I can’t fathom you can do any better than this at the approx. $50 price point.

Immediate Payoff
Over the years I’ve had 2 water heaters give out and my AC condensate pump 3 times, each resulting in water in my finished basement. I first tried the Moen water alarm and have that near my water tank. I came across these by chance and decided to give them a try. Less than 2 weeks after my purchase my AC condensate pump got clogged and water began going to the floor. The X alarm went off immediately, at the base station, the sensor unit, and my phone app. The alarm is extremely loud. Everything worked flawlessly and setting up the units on the app was easy. As a side note, I don’t think my Moen went off so that was disappointing. I currently have 2 near my water tank and one near my washing machine. Looking to add a few more for my sinks. Highly recommend. BTW, I lm a real person who doesn’t write a lot of reviews, but had to on this.

Works Decent Butâ¦
This Product is great and does work well enough to pay for itself. I installed the base station and a total of 6 water leak sensors. The set-up is easy and not difficult to understand at all; however, I find while setup is easy, connection to the Wi-Fi is only 2.4ghz like most IoT devices. The main problem with today’s IoT Devices and not all of them are up to date with the WiFi Security standards the base station only allow 2.4ghz on WPA2 or WPA 2/3 and it doesnât allow Protected management frames. For the WiFi I believe the base station has a security weakness. The Water leak sensors pair fast and easy and are very sensitive, we discovered a sink under our kitchen sink the first day of install. Both the base station and sensor alert making it known a leak has been detected, additionally they can be silenced as well. The App controls are easy to use and firmware updates are possible. The sound control on the basestation is limited but making adjustments using App allows for sound changes.

Easy to setup and very reliable
Pros: -Stays connected to my wifi -Clean subtle design -Immediately detects even the smallest amount of water -Siren is super loud -Notifies me if I am away from home and there is a leak (tested by having my partner put one in some water while I was away)Cons: -none so far.Special Notes: -Just remember to resync with your wifi if you make any changes to it, like renaming your SSID or switching providers, new router, etc. The beauty of this product is that the sensors sync to the base station, so you only have to resync the base station to wifi if you change your wifi config.

Reliable So Far, But Periodic Checks Are a Good Idea
Iâve had the X-Sense Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector set up for about six months now, and thankfully, no leaks to report yet! It gives some peace of mind, but now that I think about it, I should probably test them periodically to ensure theyâre still functioning. Overall, seems like a solid systemâeasy to set up, and I like the app feature. Hopefully, I never need it, but Iâll be checking them occasionally just to be safe!

Fantastic leak detection system
I am a bit of a âgadget kingâ in that I like all kinds of nerdy Wi-Fi/electronic gadgets. This system is simple to use, easy to set up and works great. It is a needed addition to my home. I recently had a leak which created a slip-and-fall accident on a wet, slippery bathroom tile floor. If I had this system at that time, the accident would never have happened because I would have known about the leak before walking into the dark bathroom in the middle of the night. You only need one base unit to which I am told you can add up to 50 remote water sensors. I have a total of 15 remote sensors and have placed them just about everywhere water could leak (near air conditioner condensate overflow drains, hot water heaters, sinks, toilets, etc.)
