Wahl Aqua Blade Trimmer
I wrote this review on 06/14/2024 for the Wahl Aqua Trimmer with wide cutters. I used spell correct but no form of artificial intelligence or advanced intelligence.I purchased this trimmer because I needed a wider cutting width. This one is much wider than the one I had before which was only 1 inch wide. This one is 1 and 9/16 inch wide (that’s almost one and a half inches wide) which is a lot wider. You do have to move it a little slower though because it is not that powerful, although it does do the job. Not super slow, but slower than with a decent 1 inch model.I use these kinds of trimmers as a quick shave when I do not have to go anywhere particularly important as it shaves close enough for that. If I have to go to an important meeting I will follow up with my foil shaver which is made by Remington, which also has a pop-up trimmer but it’s far too small and weak. The previous Remington I had also had a wide pop-up trimmer which was really strong too, but they stopped making that one (for some unknown reason) so now I have to use a separate trimmer. The reason for the trimmer is sometimes I let my beard grow a little longer before shaving and none of the foil shavers can handle that well enough even though they have that little extra cutter built in with the foils that is supposed to handle that.Overall, this trimmer is working for my purposes. I don’t feel comfortable giving it a full 5 stars but I would definitely say 4 covers it. It is a little pricey for what power it has though, but it does have lithium batteries which means it won’t die down just because I didn’t use it for a couple days or so.Something better would probably be over $100 USD (this around date 06/10/2024).

Best value for the cost – period!
This is the best value for the cost I believe youâll find! Itâs exactly what a man needs, itâs waterproof, and rechargeable (charges last a very long time!). It comes with attachments that are easy to swap out and itâs comfortable to use. Iâve been using this almost every day since I got it and have not experienced any issues.

Internal battery dead in less than 3 years
I suppose this trimmer worked fine when it would charge. But less than 3 years in, and the battery is dead and won’t recharge. Useless. The owner’s manual kinda predicts this and indicates in the troubleshooting section that if the battery were completely die, send the whole thing in for factory repair and do NOT to try to replace the battery yourself. (I can’t see a way into the body to do that anyway.) I think it was designed to fail.

I bought this beard trimmer in April of 2021. since purchasing this I have used it every 3 or 4 days and it has performed really well. i’ve never had a problem with it and I doubt you will either.

I’ve used Wahl brand clippers for many years. I’ve owned various models of full sized clippers and multiple beard trimmers.After a few shaves, which included the sides of my head, a neck trim, a beard trim and shaping, I’m pretty impressed with how well this unit works. I have very coarse hair and the trimmer cut through it with ease. Not a single hair pull. As some have noted, the guard sizing is off compared to other Wahl trimmers I’ve owned but it wasn’t difficult for me to figure out which one I wanted to use. Hint: Start with the biggest and work your way down the sizes until you like what you see. I tend to mark my favs so I know which ones to grab out of the bag. The bag is a nice touch but pretty cheap and I won’t use it anyway.As for use without guards, it gives a nice close shave without any skin pinching; even when I mowed up and down over certain spots multiple times. The mini detail trimmer is a bit noisy but works well. I didn’t use the nose/ear trimmer because I own a high end one from a different brand.My only concern is the longevity of the parts. Swapping the head with other attachments felt like I could easily break the plastic underneath. I also find that the adjustable largest guard is destined to break if I even try to adjust it again. It was very stiff to move and I can see that being the first part to go.I didn’t try the unit in water (shower) and I don’t usually do that anyway so I can’t speak to how it will work.Time will tell

I only use the trimmer set at 0 for my bald head, so far it has the closest trim I’ve had after having 4 or 5 trimmers before. It’s a bit too sharp if you use it in other parts like armpits so have to be careful in using it there. The other accessories work as expected as well. Would recommend this as an entry level trimmer for it’s price and hopefully durability.The plastic handle is a bit negative for me but you that’s what you get for the lower price I guess.
