I LOVE THIS CAMERA! I am a caregiver so I bought 2 of these – one for me and one for a friend – to help us monitor our patients at night. The families are either unable or unwilling to purchase these for us to use so we got them for ourselves. My friend’s clients wouldn’t let her use hers, so I’m going to use them both now. My client can get up at night on her own so I install and uninstall my cameras for my 48 hour shift. My client is a fall risk, has dementia and is nearly always horribly confused especially at night or whenever she falls asleep. These help me to monitor her even as I sleep and when I’m doing housework! âI was very sad when I realized that I could NOT use both cameras on a single parent unit, I’ll have to take both parent units & set them up. ð« … Oh well. At least the hard part is DONE which is to purchase them! âThey DO work right out of the box! **Look on the side of the cameras and flip the switch to ON or they won’t work!** I was freaking out the first time I bought them because of this issue! ð ð Don’t be a goof like me!ð âI bought used ones. On a full charge they last about 6-7hours. I try to keep the parent unit plugged in unless I take it with me to the bathroom or when I shower. âNight vision gets dark because it tries to save battery and you have to click a button to make it get a bit brighter again. Don’t get me wrong, this IS NOT a deal breaker – just a minor inconvenience! It works very well though, if you have a night light ON in the room. (I keep the hall light on for more clarity.) âConclusion – I DO LOVE these monitors! So useful and helpful!

Amazing Range!
The range on this monitor is no joke. We are able to use this outside in the driveway and still get a clear signal with picture/sound. It’s incredible! Very easy to use and setup. The camera is meant to be mounted, so it doesn’t have the best tilt and the monitor is a little bright even on the darkest setting. But, those are easy trade-offs for a quality signal that doesn’t go in-and-out all the time.

This is an amazing budget video monitor! My regular monitor is the Eufy, which I love, but I needed a travel monitor for when we go on vacation. At $50, this was the perfect price. And even though the Eufy cost 3x more, this monitor has some better features! I highly recommend this one.Pros:You can leave the sound on, and turn the screen off! By pressing any button, the screen comes back to life. This is how I have it set for overnight.The parent unit plugs in with a round plug/cable (not a USB, which requires flipping it the right way).The parent unit is a great size and very tough. You don’t feel like you need to baby it. It has a little kick stand that is very sturdy!I don’t use it, but it does have a VOX feature.I don’t use it, but it does have a two-baby units feature.Cons:The “dim” setting is very bright.The quietest/lowest sound setting is very loud.The picture quality is decent, but not amazing.

*updated*Removed 1 star for rubbish battery life. After a few months of use the battery pack in the parent unit stopped lasting through a nap even. I bought an aftermarket replacement battery for less than $10 and it too only lasted a few months. So pretty much just have to keep it plugged in now. It’s an inconvenience, but still works for my situation. Also, being able to adjust VOX has been helpful. I would probably still buy again.*OriginalLove this simple monitor. Has great signal strength, practically nothing to set up except for a few feature options, image is clear and crisp even in the dark. And I don’t have to be concerned about wifi ones getting hacked. The battery on the parent monitor lasts for quite a while. I just power it down between naps to conserve. Also it was super easy to just unplug and take on a trip for use on vacation. Two thumbs up!

We’ve had this unit only for a week now, so I will come back and update this if things change but so far, for the price, you really can’t beat it (I purchased it while it was on sale..not sure what it’ll be by the time you read this though!). We were looking for an affordable monitor to replace the one we’ve had for 2 years now that’s on the fritz (also a VTech). I was willing to skimp a little on *some* of the features, but the one thing I absolutely needed was the temperature feature. I purchased a similar model a few weeks ago and the readings were wildly inaccurate. I’m glad to say this one is pretty much spot on.I like that the camera itself has an adjustable neck so that you can position it just so. I mounted ours on the wall and adjusted it to get the exact view I wanted. The parent unit itself has a smaller screen than what I’m used to, but I can still see pretty well. The picture quality leaves a little something to be desired, but it’s acceptable. The night view is the same, acceptable but not totally crystal clear – there is some graininess. Now, on the unit itself, unfortunately you can’t pan the camera BUT, you can pan the camera when you zoom in, which I appreciate.I like that you can set the temperature alert, but was a little annoyed that you can’t set the max. to lower than 77 degrees. You can on the prior model VTech that we had, so I’m not really sure why you can’t on this one.Regarding people saying you can’t mute the unit…I’m not sure what they are referring to. I am able to turn the sound on the parent unit down all the way until it shows a mute icon, and I went in the room to test it out and no sound was emitting from the unit.The lullaby feature works nicely, no complaints there.All in all a good monitor for the price, assuming it lasts 🙂 Will report back if it doesn’t.
