Inexpensive but don’t expect it to be your primary light
I use this light as a secondary light source when recording video for my podcasts, bouncing it off the wall to make it a little softer. You can change the warmth of the light and it’s decently bright for the size and price, but I don’t think it would work as your primary light as it’s just too small and not bright enough. That being said, if you understand what you are getting here and know your use case, it can be useful. It’s got an internal rechargable battery that lasts a decent amount of time but I ended up just plugging it in permanently via USB c to my rig. The wheels on the back to control brightness and color temperature are functional. Vi wish there was a dedicated on/off button though, so I could just set the brightness and just hit on/off when I need to use it. Build quality is ok. It’s all plastic and won’t stand up to much abuse.

The VL-81, Bi-Color Fill Light is a very high quality light, it is very impressive. The case is sturdy, the controls are sturdy and turn smoothly and the light is bright. I highly recommend this light to everyone.

Needed a video light!
I needed a simple LED light for my camera to film some small videos. None of the other led lights mounted to the cold shoe on cameras. They either had little clips/clamps or a tripod screw mount. This is perfect as the light can move with my camera when it is handheld.
Nice easy adjustable dials on the back. One for brightness and one for color temperature. So many features in a little light.
The fact that it is also rechargeable is awesome, the last light I had was batteries and always drained them so quickly and got expensive to replace. So far super happy with this purchase. It is small but packs a punch!

I use this in conjunction with a short handle and 12″ round reflector both available on Amazon, to light my outdoor macro images. It is small… fits into a small belt pouch I wear, I use it as main light or as a backlight with 12″ reflector main to achieve perfect lighting. I prefer it to flash as it is easier to see lighting effect. I use a tripod so slower shutter speeds are not a problem. You can adjust color temperature which is a nice feature at this price point. It has an internal rechargeable battery which is convenient. So buy this light add a handle and you are ready to explore the Macro world in your garden, park or flower nursey.
