Powers GoPro HERO12 Black w/o GoPro battery
Finally found a external battery that can power the GoPro12 w/o the battery. The issue I was having was wanting to do a longer night time lapse or star trails videos for more than the 2-3 hrs that the internal enduro battery lasts. The GoPro12 will not charge the enduro battery while recording, so the only option is to remove the battery and use an external power bank. I had a couple of external power banks that were supposed to be rated at 5V/2A but most of the time the GoPro would flash a message saying that the power supply was not sufficient (even though it had enough power provided to pop that message up…), but sometimes the GoPro would be ok with input power amount… Anyway, this power bank works great, but you have to use the in/out1 USB-C. A time lapse of around 10 hrs, used about 40% of the charge from the power bank. The other nice thing about this power bank is being able to charge multiple devices at the same time.

Capacity is 75Wh, this information was very hard to find online. This is enough to fully charge my 2020 M1 MacBook Air (~50 Wh) 1.5 times, theoretically; but due to with charging losses, I can only really charge it from 0% to 90% but this might be because I am also using the computer at the same time and given the charge rate (100W), the computer thinks it’s plugged into the wall so it can pull more power for performance.Very happy with this, I can charge my laptop at 65-100W. The only thing is if you are using this as a constant power source, such as for a camera or a phone that is completely dead, be aware that plugging in another device to the battery disconnects and reconnects all other devices. This is probably more of a USB-PD limitation since it has to change the voltages it can provide, but it’s still a little annoying.Works perfectly otherwise, I wish I got a bigger capacity one since we use this a lot more than expected.

So the great part is that it really charges up devices fast, so that was amazing and the price was really good for fast charging. A little heavy but for how much power you get, it was great.However, I bought two and both of them died right after the battery went to zero. So they would recharge if I didn’t hit zero but if I accidentally drained it down, it refused to ever charge again. Mind you this all happened within a few days. I didn’t actually know what caused it at first but then when it happened to the second one, I was sure.Also, on one of them, the screen also glitchy and would light one and off in one section (you know like one hash section since that’s how the screens are made). So sad and disappointed. Hope I just got a bad batch, I did not use a special fast wall charging device though so it did TAKE FOREVER to charge, not the advertised hr or so.
