Easy to Set Up and Use
The plugs are sooooo much easier to set up than the bulbs using Alexa. I recently set up the bulbs in different lamps. They worked for a while, then were unresponsive. It is difficult to set them up again, so I tried the plugs. It was easy to set them up and I have had no problems with them being unresponsive. Thank you!!

Mostly great, but not perfect
Like all technology, it isnât 100% all the time. Setup was easy and connected to my Alexa device. Unfortunately it disconnected without me knowing. Luckily I was home and was able to reset it, but it was unfortunately a wake up call that this could happen while Iâm traveling. I like to use the smart plug to turn the lights on and off remotely for various reasons. Reliability is key, so I gave it 4 stars. Convenience, ease of use, setup, and cost are all great.

Great overall
Overall, I love these. I use them for the lights over my plants, and lights in our living room (because there’s no light switch in the room). I’ve had no issues setting these up in the past, but for some reason lately, anytime I try to add one, it refuses to connect to wifi until I go into my router’s setting and change our 2.4Ghz network’s channel. After that, it connects almost instantly. I want to knock a star off for that, but it’s possible that’s an issue with our router, not these plugs.The Tapo app is really easy to use, and makes it simple to set the plugs on a schedule. You can choose either set times to turn the plugs on and off, or go based off sunrise and sunset. It’s also easy to set up a routine so multiple plugs turn on/off at the same time (this is what we do for out living room). This can also be done in the Google Home app, but I like the interface through the Tapo app better. Will definitely be buying more of these or other Tapo products!

Works great! Except for with products with variable settings
I have quite a few tapo products and really like the programmability. This is a great plug that is completely functional, however, if you have a unit you want to plug into it that has variable settings ( I.e.one button off, low and high for a heater) The schedule settings just allow power to flow to it but even if you leave it in the on position it will default to the off when the power is flowing to it at the scheduled time. It does however, guarantee that the unit is shut off at a specific time with the schedule function.

I love these things
So far, these have worked flawlessly with zero glitches. I keep coming up with new uses like using one on a portable AC in the bedroom. No fumbling for the remote in the dark, just tell Alexa to turn on the air. Theyâre great for turning off Christmas tree lights without digging behind the tree every night to pull the plug. Theyâre also great if you have something like a smart tv that occasionally locks up and needs a hard reboot. Forget unplugging it or flipping the breaker, just reboot with a smart plug.
