Very simple method, easy to use
The setup is very simple, seems pretty reliable. I would have preferred to have it plugged in instead of using batteries, but i can probably modify it. I will be opening it up anyway to find some way to trigger the delivery only when the cat is present, the cat unfortunately is never near at the prescribed times and i would prefer to not leave food exposed for too long.The freezer packs are a bit smaller than i’d expect, however i noticed they bulge and distort when frozen, this may be the reason it’s smaller. It’s too bad they didn’t choose to go with a peltier-effect cooling method, plugged in to power, i’d be likely to purchase a few of these for longer trips if it had built-in cooling.

Great Feeding Solution For Cat or Small Dog
This came inside a larger shipping box, and was packaged well. It requires 3 AA batteries that are not included. The battery compartment is on the bottom. It took me a moment to figure out how to open the feeder, but reading the instructions would have fixed that. I like that there are “quick start” instructions on the top of the feeder for easy use.You will need to let the ice packs freeze for several hours if you want to use this with canned wet food. If you are using it to feed dry or freeze dried, obviously there’s no need to use the ice packs. They must be laid flat to freeze, and when you install them back into the feeder you need to ensure they are seated on the points that stick up from the bottom, 2 for each ice pack. Otherwise you won’t be able to get the top back on correctly.When you open the top, you’ll turn the clear plastic reader cover and remove it. Then take off the upper half of the main cover, and remove the metal 6-compartment feeder tray. Underneath you’ll find the ice packs. Once those are frozen and inserted, then replace the metal tray. This must also be seated correctly, fyi, or when the feeder opens the compartment it will be just a hair off from centered. This is a user error on my part, I just needed to open it back up and seat it correctly.Programming it is really, really simple. You can program it to feed from 1 to 6 meals, or you can hold down the “+” button for instant feeding. The attached video shows the device opening, and you’ll see that it’s slightly off as I mentioned above. I fixed that and made another video showing the instant feed feature, with the tray seated correctly. Unfortunately they only allow 1 video per review.I definitely recommend this!

Jammed; Cat has no food for 26 hours.
I’ve been testing this feeder a few days before heading out for a two day trip. Unfortunately, this feeder jammed in the second meal of that trip causing my cat having no food for 26 hours. The flap design causes the jam. If you don’t want your cat to starve, stay away from this feeder.

LCD screen is a bit dim, wish it plugged in.
I very much wish this feeder was a plug-in, not a battery, or only used battery power for back-up in case of power outage. As it is, having to keep batteries in it definitely increases the cost. I use rechargeable ones, but it’s still frustrating.The LCD screen is not very bright and can make it hard to program.I have noticed the feeder getting jammed a couple times, but not every single day. Still not a great track record.I wouldn’t rely on the cooling function of the ice packs for keeping the food cold, as they only last so long and they don’t give you extras to swap out.

Cons:This feeder has a few areas for improvement. First, an LCD display would make it much easier to see the feeding schedule; as it stands, you have to get up close to view the settings. The included ice packs only stay cool for about 10 hours, I would recommend buying another set.Setting the timers was a bit of a challenge at first. The feederâs schedule only allows up to 24 hours, so if you want a midnight feeding, youâll need to set it for 11:59 PM instead of 12:00 AM.This feeder is incredibly convenient! It allows me to set three meals and three snacks, providing 24 hours of automated feeding, which frees me from the worry of missing feeding times. The added beep sound before each meal is a bonusâmy cats have started associating the sound with feeding time, making the process even easier. Although theyâre still adjusting, I can already see how much itâs helping us stick to a schedule.I think because this unit has a steel tray it keeps the food colder longer.Overall:While this feeder could use a few tweaks, the benefits far outweigh the cons. Itâs an effective way to keep pets on a consistent feeding schedule and offers a lot of peace of mind. Highly recommend for pet owners looking for a hassle-free feeding solution!

Unreliable, Buy a Cat Mate instead
I tried this product for 16 days. There was not a single day that went by that the feeder didn’t get jammed. The lid on this product directly contributes to its poor design.If you want a feeder you can trust to feed your cat when you are away, do not buy this product. Buy a Cat Mate feeder instead. I’ve used a Cat Mate for years and it has never failed to turn.
