Unbeatable Price:Performance!
I’ve had the Soundcore Q20 headphones for almost a month now, and I thought I’d start off my review with one simple statement: I’ve only charged these things ONCE since I’ve taken them out of the box. These headphones have absolutely phenomenal battery life. The only reason I charged them was because I wanted to test how long they would last on a full charge (within my day to day use). I received these headphones on the 1st of April. It is currently the 27th of April and the battery is still at “Medium” (there is no visual indicator, however there is a voice that tells you whether your battery is “High”, “Medium”, or “Low”).
That being said, I’ll go ahead and list some Pros:
– Battery Life (Seriously, I can’t stress enough how good it is)
– Sound Quality
– Comfort
– Looks
– Sturdiness/Build Quality
– Noise Cancellation (there’s a caveat here, continue reading to see what I mean)
BATTERY LIFE:
As if I haven’t already said enough, these headphones refuse to die. I’ve used them from anywhere between an hour to 3-4 hours at a time (long gaming sessions or binging a show on my laptop or phone), and they just don’t let up. Like I mentioned in the intro, it’s been almost an entire month with these headphones and I’ve only had to charge them once. It is worth mentioning that the battery will drain much faster with noise-cancelling turned on, as it is indeed ACTIVE noise-cancelling and uses more power. I’ve got to give props to Anker for marketing these as lasting 40 hours, as this runtime is more accurate when noise-cancelling is ON. With ANC off, these can easily last 60+ hours. It’s always refreshing to see a company slightly under-sell and over-deliver.
SOUND QUALITY:
These things sound way better than they should at this price-point. I wouldn’t call myself an audiophile, but I do have experience with over-ear, closed-back studio headphones (I own a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50x’s), and dabble in amateur sound mixing/mastering as a guitarist. Apart from being just a bit heavier on the bass than I would like, these headphones do an excellent job at bringing out lows, mids, and highs in pretty much anything you’ll find yourself listening to. Nothing sounds drowned out or overexposed (with the exception of the bass, but there’s a valid reason for it in this case). I bought these headphones primarily for multimedia consumption (movies, video games, music, etc.). They have just the right amount of punch in the low-end to make things such as explosions or bass-heavy sound effects really shine. In this instance, the heavier low-end makes sense. Voices sound crystal clear, as the mids don’t get drowned out by the lows or highs like on some other higher-priced headphones (looking at you, Beats..). The highs are where these things truly shine, in my opinion. Lots of budget headphones tend to sound very “tinny” with harsh, sharp highs to over-compensate for the overly-saturated bass, but these do a great job at keeping both the mids and highs prominent enough (despite the thicker bass).
COMFORT:
I’ve owned and used plenty of both over-ear and on-ear headphones over the years, and I can’t beat around the bush here: these are the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever used. I was expecting to have to “break them in”, given what some of the other reviews were saying, but the minute I put these on I was pleasantly surprised at just how soft and light these felt (without feeling cheap or flimsy). And I wear glasses!
LOOKS:
Not a whole lot to say about how these look. I wouldn’t say you’ll be turning heads while wearing these out and about, but for the amount of money that they cost.. I’m just saying they could’ve looked a lot worse. I’ve seen headphones three times the price that are a complete eye-sore. The Q20s are clean and minimalistic, without giving away its low price.
STURDINESS/BUILD QUALITY:
Although I’m not one to man-handle my devices (no matter how little they may cost), I have to say that these don’t feel the least bit flimsy. I did a mild stress-test by stretching both ear cups apart as far as I was comfortable with and was able to get about 10 inches wide. I don’t think anyone has a head that wide, but if you do, these are definitely going to fit. The build quality feels great, and I feel like these will definitely last a while (and I will be updating this review if that changes lol).
NOISE CANCELLATION:
These headphones do indeed have active noise cancelling, BUT.. I literally almost NEVER use it. Here’s why: they don’t need it. The headphones are built in such a way that even with the ANC off, they drown out a ton of outside noise. Unfortunately, there is a significant drop in volume when noise-cancelling is activated. The bass takes a hit as well, making it more evened out with the mids and highs (which might be a plus for some).
FINAL THOUGHTS:
There’s only really one “Con” that I wasn’t going to mention, and that’s the carrying bag that comes with the Q20s. There’s nothing really wrong with it, but I did just want to note that they used to come with a hard carrying case (according to some older YouTube reviews), and I’m a little salty that us newer buyers don’t get that lol. All in all, for the $60 that I paid for these headphones, I can’t think of any reason not to fully recommend them. They sound great, the battery life lasts incredibly long (almost to a suspicious degree, making you feel like today is finally the day it’ll need a charge only to be proven wrong), it’s got decent looks, solid build, and they even threw in Active Noise Cancellation for situations that call for some extra silence. If you’re in the market for some new headphones for multimedia consumption (I definitely would not use these for any professional work, as they are not made for that), and have a bit of a stiffer budget, look no further. These will do more than its price tag leads on.

Great quality for the price
These are probably the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever owned. I normally get headaches from over-ear headphones after an hour, but I can wear these for 3+ hours no problem. I’m also really impressed with the noise cancellation quality – I have very noisy upstairs neighbors, but when I put these on I can’t hear a thing! The Soundcore app lets you switch between noise cancelling mode, normal, and tranparent mode, so I can still feel comfortable wearing them out in public without being oblivious to what’s around me.
The sound quality is pretty good as well. I am no expert, but my music, podcasts, and video games all sound great on these headphones. I’ve had these for a week and I’m totally in love with them. Battery life seems great so far as well. They came out of the box with 60% battery and I’ve only had to charge them once after 5 days, with approximately 3-4 hours of use each day. I would highly recommend these if you’re looking for a great quality pair of headphones that won’t bankrupt you.

Good quality for price, excellent warranty support
I bought these about 17 months ago, and have used them as my daily drivers for work.
Pros:
* Excellent Battery life: A charge lasts me the whole week and into the weekend, with about 50% of the time ANC on
* ANC is good and effective
* Sound quality is solid, with good bass and ok trebles/mids
* Build quality is better than expected for the price. No cracked/flaking cushions after over a year, hinges are all still solid and intact even after daily use and tumbling around in my backpack.
* Earcups breathe well enough to not end up with sweaty ears sitting at a desk
* Warranty is solid (see below)
Cons:
* No ANC unless you are connected via bluetooth
* No hard case
* Voice mic is not great — don’t expect to use them for clear calls.
* Died after just under a year and a half (see note)
Warranty Note: My original pair stopped powering on after about 17 months. Looked up on SoundCore’s website, saw it had an 18 month warranty and submitted a claim on the site. Response was quick (within a business day) and after a little back and forth with diagnostics and order verification, they honored the warranty without trouble, and sent me a new pair. Fulfilled by Amazon, they were here the next business day. That is some solid service. Unfortunate that they stopped working but glad the warranty is a good one.

Updated 11/5/24 wears great over hearing aids & with Binaural Music
I received these 10/26/24; very cushony and comfortable. I have external (around the ear) hearing aids and these fit very well over them. I don’t feel any pressure on my hearing aids from the head phones. The sound quality is great. I bought these primary to listen to Binaural Beats (as you need stereo hearing phones or buds to hear ischemic binaural tones effectively) while I study/work. They work very well for binaural beats. These are not noise cancelling but I did not buy them for that reason although when music is off things are quited a little. *Update 11/5/24: Still works very well & connected easily to my Dell. I left my upstairs office wearing the headphones while listening to music. I was able to walk around my house and even into the front yard and they stayed connected! The only time I got some slight interuptions was when I went into back of house and there was wall and closed door btw there and upstairs. Amazing range of connection & it’s great not to be tethered to my laptop via corded earbuds anymore. I would def. buy again or even give these as a gift.

The noise cancelling is good, sound levels are fine, not heavy on the head, nor is it clunky, Bluetooth connection is fast and never troubles, easy to bring around, and the material is sort of cheap feeling if I were to nit-pick but it’s enduring greatly!
Overall good pair of headphones. Likely not the best for audiophiles though.

I needed a new set of headphones to replace a set of Sony’s that I’ve had for a few years. I came across these on here, and added them to my basket along with a few other pairs, and then began checking out the reviews on here, followed by some on YouTube. All reviews on YouTube seemed extremely positive and were actually stating that these punched well above their weight, especially at the price, many reviewers stating they’d pay two or three times the price, so I returned to Amazon, deleted the others in my basket and ordered these.
Delivery was next day and on-time, and arrived in perfect condition, no problems there.
The headphones are light, look modern and cool, and the materials all feel high quality, although it’s subjective comfort for me personally was excellent, and the fit was perfect, these are light and comfy, the padding all around is soft and supple, great for long use, with no discomfort, I used them for seven hours straight on the day they got delivered, and I’ve tried them out with my glasses, no problems with the fit or comfort there either.
I’ve had the headphones for a week now, and have tried them with my record player, PS5, TV, laptop, projector, and mobile phone. Connection is straightforward and simple for each device, with no drop outs or connection issues. I’ve taken a few phone calls though the headphones now, not one caller has mentioned I sound ‘funny, distorted, quiet or unclear’ infact, nobody has mentioned a thing, so they can’t tell I’m using headphones, and I can hear every caller loud and clear.
I’ve been really impressed with the sound quality with these, but initially thought the bass may be too overpowering for the kind of music I like, but I soon became accustomed to this, and love it now. I don’t use the bass boost, as it’s not needed for me, but it’s there’s for all the bassheads, and I’m sure it’s a feature they’ll like. These are my first noise cancelling headphones, so I can’t compare that feature to other (much more expensive) headphones, it’s not a feature I really use, as I tend to use these in quiet areas when alone, but the feature does work, as I blocked out some noisy neighbours one night, so it would be useful for any other users, the over ear pads dampen the outside world quite well by themselves too, (noise cancelling only works when connected via Bluetooth, and not when connecting with the supplied aux cable. The sound through these are rich and clear, I don’t think you’d get a better pair of headphones at this price point to be honest, which the many YouTube reviews correctly stated. You will probably see reviews on here from audiophiles detailing the finer intricacies of frequencies, sound stages, balances, trebles, rolling highs, lows, mids and all the like, you know the ones…..but I ask, why are you buying a pair of £32 headphones, when it’s clear you are looking for a lot more specification (and price) wise, I’d say ignore those, and don’t let the over analysers put you off, they have unrealistic expectations, these sound excellent for the price, just check out the YouTube reviews from people who test many different comparable products, you’ll be hard pressed to find many negative ones.
Fantastic battery life, 40hrs with active noise cancelling, 60 houra without. I’ve had to charge them once in a week, after many hours of use, and the quick charge feature is amazing and very useful, 10 minutes charge giving you 4 hours of battery life.
This model is not compatible with the Soundcore app, so you won’t be able to use that to adjust the equaliser settings. I was aware of this before purchase, because I read the reviews and specifications on here, and on the Anker website, easily done before purchase, and it wasn’t an issue for me, as I can download an app, or use and EQ on my laptop, to be honest, they sound just fine from the factory setting. If you want the app compatibilty buy the next model up, Q20i
I would highly recommend these to family or friends without hesitation, knowing they’ll love them.
It’s my first Anker SoundCore product, so it’s always a worry when you try a new brand, but glad I did, and will look for one of their speakers next, and buy happily without any worry about the quality.
Like everything else when you’re looking to buy something, TVs, computers, cars, there’s always gonna be people who want the very best, (we all do want that for our money of course) and these won’t meet that need for the serious audiophiles, that must have, or need the top features and specs, but remember you’re not paying top money for these, and for the price, you’ll be getting the best you can for your money. No matter what you’re buying, when you read some reviews, they are never good enough for some people, and have unrealistic expectations, and can put you off purchasing when doing your research, but I don’t think these will disappoint the majority of buyers at all.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I am.

Bon produit.
