Perfect for 9 year old
I bought this for my 9 year old nephew who loves legos and building things in general. I tried to be a little different and get something that wasn’t lego-based, so I purchased this for him. He opened it immediately and built it quickly. He had a lot of fun with it for awhile, but I’m sure it’s probably sitting in a toybox somewhere now.Really cool and appreciate that it’s not all plastic.

My son and I loved this project!
My 7 year old and I really enjoyed putting this together. I helped to walk him through the easy to understand directions, step by step, and do some of the more repetitive tasks on the fingers, but he was able to do most of it independently. We spent a whole day on it! It offered us some great quality time and a fun homeschool STEM activity. That is a win in my book! It’s actual functionality is somewhat limited. I have long, slender hands and my palms were too big to fit in the hand. My son’s hand fits much better, but the thumb is a little glitchy and uncomfortable. (He ended up cutting the felt to try to make it more comfortable, but that gave him less control of the articulation of it.)Overall, this is a solid toy and would make a great gift. He got this for his birthday and was super excited about it. He tends to love all things somewhat robot related. We do a lot of Kiwi boxes and this is definitely more sturdy than the things we make with the subscription kits.

CLEAR Instructions, Good build
This smartivity robotic mechanical hand kit was a hit with my 13yo. It was complex, but due to the clear instructions and labeling, it was not difficult and could be done by someone younger. The end product has been fun for us all to try out different tasks while wearing it. We’ve tried several different brands and types of STEM kits. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this brand over the others. Everything goes together just as it is supposed to and functions well.

It’s a good and thoughtful product for kids to think and build. Also gives a great deal of creativity so they can think and use their observing skills. Also the instructions are simple and the parts are really sturdy. We bought it for our 7 year old and he loved it. He thinks he is iron man now ðð

My son loved building this and although he usually loses interest after a toy has been build, this is something he still plays with after building. A very nice toy!

I bought this product for my son. I found the product quality quite good. MDF components are laser cut makes it smooth, accurate and strong. He is able to grip small soft parts with hand as well. The thing I like the most is, my child was able to assemble whole hand independently. He was capable of making it on its own.The one suggestion is, the product do not fit completely on palm. It is just hold through fingers, providing very weak and loose grip.
