If My Cat Loves This Self-Heating Pad Any Cat Would
I have an elderly cat who is fussy about her “stuff”. This year as the weather got colder and she appeared less tolerant of the cooler temps in the house, especially overnight temps, I looked for a soft, warm heating pad for her. I didn’t want to get into the inconvenience of electrically heated feline heating pads so I took a chance on this. I’m not sure about the “self-heating” claim but what I am sure of is that she loves it. I think the pad retains a lot of her body heat and makes it cozy for her. It has a removable, washable exterior so it will always be fresh and soft. Highly recommended!

Warm and soft
My cats loves it. The weather is getting cold and this is where he spends most of his day . Highly recommend.

Nice product
I bought it for my elderly Cat. She likes to stretch out on it. Itâs thinner than I thought it would be, but very soft.

Great warmth – NOT for puppies
I used it for my puppy, who is crate training because she gets cold at night even with a sweater. I had a heating dog pad before, but she kept trying to bite all of it which can be dangerous. So, I hoped this would do the trick…. It almost did!Needless to say, she had an accident. She peed, and it soaked past the cover and onto the fluffy inside, so I had to wash both pieces. Even though you are probably only supposed to wash the cover, I had to wash the inside, too, so the scent didn’t stay on the fabric. When I did, the fluff completely pulled apart and lost shape. Great warmth for dogs who are potty trained. Horrible for dogs who are adults.

Nice bed
Got this to put in an outdoor cat house. Fits perfectly in it and is very plush and soft!

Cat loves it from first try
The grey size matches my couch perfectly. We have a new baby and the cat canât sleep in the bed with us now so as not to get fur everywhere. This mat was a perfect solution for upcoming winter. The cat used to love sleeping on my head or under the blanket to keep warm in the winter. Now no more. I unboxed this item and tested it with my arm. I could immediately feel warmth radiating back. Placed the cat on it and gave her a rub to relax. She then proceeded to sleep on it all night and even for cat naps the next day! She loves it!My cat is second largest domestic cat breed-a ragdoll. And the smaller/standard size is plentiful

Feral cat approved
I like how it’s washable, because our adorable, feral cat, Morris will get blankets dirty relatively quick. He loves sleeping on the pad, along with some other small blankets I have on the sides. Perfect size for a fairly large cat (12-15lbs)

Loved right out of the box!
I pulled this out of the box and laid it on the floor. Our 8 year old arthritic dog immediately claimed it! Itâs so soft. Iâm sure when heâs not on it that the cat will be!

TL;DR (for those not up to snuff on online lingo, this means âtoo long; didnât readâ and summarizes a lengthy post, or in this case, a lengthy review. Youâre welcome.)â Gorgeous, soft sherpa or sherpa-like top cover.â The cats use it and will sometimes stay there for a long time.â Try covering it with a pillow case or one of your t-shirts if youâve given them, say, a week or two and they really donât seem to be catching on that this is a good thing. Also catnip.â It is not a bed but a pad. Youâll be disappointed if youâre expecting it to be thick like a bed.â It does not heat up on its own but uses the petâs body temperature to provide heat. Hence the description self-warming or self-heating.â It is not noiseless. There is a quiet crinkle sound.â Overall an excellent purchase and one I highly recommend.I put this on a chair in front of the loveseat where we sit. It took both cats a few days to be brave enough to sit on it (we had placed them on it a few times but they jumped off of it immediately.) Once the cats discovered it for themselves they started lying on that chair when weâre in the room, and will sometimes stay there long after we leave for another part of the house.I bought another one of these of a different brand from Amazon (cheaper than this one) at the same time I ordered this. This one is much nicer, though to be fair the cats seem to like them both equally. I just think the cover of this one is softer and a better quality material. In spite of what the listing says, it is not quiet. There is a crinkle sound. To me it sounds a bit like when you pull apart clothes from the dryer that are stuck together by static cling. It is subtle but worth mentioning for people who canât tolerate certain sounds. One of my cats kneads it before she lies down on it so I think she likes it. Itâs like a crinkly cat toy.I see so many reviews saying the cat didnât take to it. The key to making it work is just like the real estate mantra: location, location, location. And time. Just let them discover it and try it out themselves. It may take a while but be patient. Put it in a spot you know they like already, or are likely to like. In a sunny spot perhaps, but somewhere near you. Cats want to be in the same room as us, if not right next to us or on our laps. I saw one reviewer say that now her cat lies next to her on the couch since she got the pad. You can always put a pillow case or one of your old shirts on top of it â or wrapped around it â if your cat is fussy about textures and just doesnât like the top fabric. Also try sprinkling a little catnip on it.Lots of comments in the reviews about it not being thick. Itâs a mat, not a bed. You can put it ON a bed if you like but this is not meant to be thick like that, though admittedly they do use the word âbedâ in the heading for the listing before they call it a pad.The mat does not heat up. How it works: the bottom of the cover blocks cold, the bottom layer inside reflects the petâs body heat, the next layer up insulates, and then thereâs the top cover, which is the part they lie on and is a beautiful, soft sherpa. It uses the catâs own body heat to create the warmth. I have one of these I bought years ago that plugs in and even it doesnât actually heat up but also uses the catâs body heat & weight (it needs some weight, I guess, for all the layers to work together.)I am impressed. I wasnât sure if it would flop because I was skeptical that it would stay warm as it says it does, but it works!

The mat reflects heat back from my catâs body really well. There is a layer of batting and reflective material inside sewn together as one piece that can be removed for washing the cover. The other benefit is that you can add another layer of batting inside the mat. I made an extra layer, a crochet layer using yarn, thick yarn, to give the mat a little extra stability and even more comfort. It also makes it easier for my cat to crawl on and lie on if the mat is placed on a soft or uneven surface. I did this because sheâs using the mat on top of her cat bed. The size is absolutely perfect for a cat. In the past Iâve paid more than double the price of this one for a far inferior product. This mat is much better than other mats Iâve bought in the past. This mat will make my catâs arthritis so much easier to deal with and help keep any chill out of her bones. Sheâs already completely asleep on it. Being an older cat, 14 which is the max for her breed, this matters perfect for what I needed to keep her bones from hurting so much as well as to keep the chill out. She likes to lay in the bay window but living In Canadaâs far north that can be quite cold for half the year. With this match sheâs perfectly comfortable even in the window. Iâm so happy with it that I am purchasing a second one right now for my other cat who is not much younger.

Thinner than I expected, but soft and cozy. My cat ignored it for 2 days but since then has slept on it for a few hours each day (for about a week now). I got the 61×46 cm size and itâs perfect for my 10.5 lb cat. I like that I can remove the cover for washing but I havenât washed it yet.

I originally ordered this to put out side in a home made stray cat house for stray cats in my area. My indoor cat has fallen in love with it, it is very soft fuzzy material and has insulation inside of it. I think it will be a great source of comfort and warmth for the strays once I place it outside.

got it for my cat who is always cold, she loves it and it keeps her nice and toasty. worth every penny.i was hesitant at first because of two reasons:1- i didnât know if the crinkle was going to scare the cat that i wanted to buy the bed for (it doesnât scare her and the crinkle is very quiet)2- i didnt want my other cat making sin biscuits on it or stealing her bed because he unfortunately loves these sherpa materials a lot. (thankfully he is respectful of the bed)donât hesitate, buy the bed!!
