Medically accurate, the best heart rate monitor
This device is much more accurate than any other heart rate monitor on the market, to even include blood pressure cuffs and pulse ox monitors at the hospital. There are many other types of monitors, they typically take your pulse rate at your wrist or fingertips but this spot is nowhere as accurate as this device on your forearm. I don’t know why or how, but it just is.Also, if you do not have a normal sinus rhythm then those other devices quicky become confused and give erroneous readings.I had to go to the cardiologist for a stress test with the O2 mask and 12 lead EKG. I asked the cardiologist and tech if I could wear this device and compare it to the pulse rate displayed by the ekg and other monitors. They were ok with it and very interested in how it would do.After 20 minutes it crushed this little test. It was spot on for my resting heart rate, max heart rate and only slightly lagged the EKG by a second or two. This is phenomenal and it is hard to relay how wonderful this is, as every other device I’ve used (to include fitbit and chest heart rate monitors) were unable to accurately measure my heartrate as it changed under different levels of cardiac stress. They did ok for my resting heart rate but could not give accurate and/or instantaneous readings of my actual heart rate while working out.The doctor was blown away, he stated that he had never seen a device on the market as accurate as the scosche, let alone a heart rate monitor that could accurately give instantaneous readings of people with arrhythmia’s.I’ve been an athlete my entire life. I did crew and soccer in high school and college. I’ve done marathons, triathlons, 100 mile rides…etc. I’ve tried countless heartrate monitors, polar, suunto, Fitbit…etc and none could come close to me measuring my carotid pulse for 6 sec and multiplying by 10. (Or an entire minute)This device delivers, it’s simple and accurate. It doesn’t slide down like chest straps do when you do long runs, I don’t have to apply any gel to leads. It just works and I know it’s as accurate as a 12 lead EKG. It may not tell me that I have a t-wave abnormality or preventricular contraction but it continuously and accurately gives my pulse rate. The battery lasts about 5-7 one-hour workouts. After that, the pulse rate isn’t as accurate. I know what a pulse rate of 140 feels like for me, so when my watch or phone displays a pulse rate of 90, I check my pulse and realize the device is not relaying correct data and I need to charge it. Once it’s charged, it’s good to go again. It syncs to most devices quickly as it uses standard ANT+ and Bluetooth.Bottom line-this works so well it surprised my cardiologist and I trust it with my life. I actually wouldn’t workout without it anymore.

Upgraded from myTrek to this one. Worth it
In general I prefer the arm band monitor to the chest band for comfort and ease of use. Since there aren’t many out there, you are limited in the selection. I’ve used the Scosche heart monitor for about a year now and decided to upgrade when Digifit upgraded their app and no longer recognized the original myTrek.I used an earlier version of this (myTrek) and found that it worked well for the price but that it had some issues. That’s why I decided to try this. I’ve only used it a short time but here’s what I found so far. The band is super comfortable and the whole thing is easy to put on as compared to the previous model. I didn’t sweat as much or feel as uncomfortable in this one as I did the older model.Problem I had with the older version:I had ratchet down the older one to get it to stay placed right when doing high intensity activities.I found that it dropped linkage to my phone every now and then.I also found that had to have my iPhone almost fully charged to use it for 2-2.5 hours or activity otherwise the phone battery drained complete before the end of the workout.Things I like about this model:With this one the band is thinner, perforated and stretchy so I find it moves with me better. I don’t get as sweaty under the band and its generally more comfortable on my arm.It uses the low power Bluetooth so it didn’t drain my phone anywhere near what the other one did.I’m using it with the Digitfit app and it synced easily. I’ll need to use it a bit longer to see how it holds up over time and different activities but far I’m very pleased. Its easier to fit it to the charging clip and the charging clip doesn’t feel as cheap or breakableEven though my other myTrek still works, I’ll be keeping this one and using it exclusively.PS> I ordered the pink one. When I got it, it came with the standard black bands AND the pink bands as optional. SO I actually have two set of bands for it. You can change it out completely because the bands detach completely from the monitor unit. This makes more sense if you are familiar with the older model. This is different from the old version and I think a vast improvement. You don’t have to worry about damaging sensors when swapping the bands around. If you are thinking about an upgrade, I’d say it worth it.

As others have said – just isn’t reliable
I bought this as the next generation of the Rhythm, which I had for a few years before the battery began to take a hit. Initially, it worked well. However, I noticed that my HR would drop out on my Garmin head unit periodically. I contacted support at Schosche as well as at Garmin. Both manufacturers blamed each other. However, the support from Scosche seemed promising at first.Initially, they stated that the engineers were aware and were working on a software patch. He asked me to do some rides, collect some logs, and report back. I did the rides and collected the logs. I tried to send them in, but I never heard back. I have done several updates to my Garmin. However, after over a year now, there have been no updates and I never heard ANYTHING back from Scosche.I can’t log more than 5 minutes at a time whether in ANT+ or Bluetooth. I tried using it again today as my back up needed a charge. When I got back, I had lost over half of my ride and saw that the Rhythm was actually off. Turned it back on, connected to the app, and the battery was 100%. This condition happens on mine and the one I bought for my wife.I see that the price has dropped on these to less than half of what I originally paid. That should be an indication that they are well aware of the issues. They should offer to exchange these for a model they know works and stop selling them. This was definitely a wake up to never buy another Scosche product again. I can understand issues and was willing to work with them to get it corrected. But, when support ghosts you, it is time to move on.

In canada we don’t have a access to order scosche HRM products so I opted to purchase this one from Amazon. Took only 3 days for delivery. The seller I’d great and responsive with any question. The heart rate monitor works great, battery lasts a while and it’s easy to use.

Been using this mostly at gym but will be running more consistently with it soon. This has been awesome to use, quite accurate for HR and is extremely comfortable so far without any slipping or moving while I wear it. Couldnât be more happy with this product for the cost.
