UPDATED from Wouldn’t cut one piece of hair! Returned and looking for something else TO WONDERFUL Customer Service!!!
UPDATED 6/21/17 -First, this company has WONDERFUL customer service. I wrote a less than flattering review and immediately Scaredy Cut reached out to me to resolve the issue. They sent out a new set – which was perfectly sharp – and I am very pleased with the product. My dog is difficult to groom. While manually cutting his hair takes more time, these clippers trim his hair evenly. It’s so much safer than grooming him with a straight pair of scissors and he looks almost professionally groomed. It’s rare these days for a company give exceptional customer service but Scaredy Cut went well beyond my expectations in resolving my issue. Thank you Scaredy Cut for wonderful customer service!I actually had another set of these and it worked pretty well for my dog. He’s terrified of electric clippers and has to be sedated if he goes to the groomer. My old Scaredy Cut clipper cut pretty well. It was sharp enough although I wish it were a little sharper. Because of the guides, his cut was even and he looked like he was professionally groomed. I didn’t worry about cutting him which can happen with a regular pair of scissors. It does take a lot longer than electric clippers BUT it was so much less stressful for both me and my dog. I bought another set since my old set was a little dull and I was so disappointed. it was HORRIBLE. The blade was so dull it couldn’t cut one piece of hair. It was like it was never meant to cut ANYTHING. So disappointed! I returned it and will look for another manual groomer that is safe and quiet.

Great alternative to loud clippers
My 8lb schnoodle is terrified of the clippers and its a fight to get him trimmed up. He looks like a little werewolf when he is not trimmed. These do have a bit of a learning curve and I still used the clippers on him for certain spots. Mostly because he doesn’t stay still. But I recommend for anyone’s dogs that are scared of the clippers to use this product. It’s easy, takes a little bit longer but has great results and minimally scary for your pets.

Not disappointed in the least.
I have 2 cats. They’re both pretty difficult critters all the way around, and scared of absolutely everything. It’s spring, and they’re shedding the winter excess. They both absolutely hate being brushed or groomed. As a result, they started to mat up, and I knew I needed to do something.I did use another pair of shears to carefully get the worst of the mats off. Then grabbed the new Scaredy Cut. to even things up and thin them out.Color me flabbergasted, when the more difficult of the two decided to love every second of the process. This is a cat that bolts like I grabbed a combination chainsaw/leaf blower/artillery piece when I pick up a brush to use on my own hair. But she adored every second we spent with the Scaredy Cut. I have had this cat for 13 years now, and in that time I have never seen her so happy, or heard her purr so much. No mask, no muzzle, no restraints or grooming bag. She even rolled over and wanted me to get the belly fuzz (and almost as quickly changed her mind, but that’s a cat for ya). For that alone, I’m well satisfied with this product.I’m not a barber, nor a cat groomer. I have no skill developed in trimming cat hair. So… there’s some rough spots. But I think that was largely caused by 1> having to hack the mats off prior to using the Scaredy Cut, and 2> my own inexperience. That said, I only really spent about 30 minutes with her, before we both decided it was time for a break. By then end of that time, I was getting much better results, and while there are rough spots, it overall doesn’t look horrible. It could (and has) been much rougher. So it really is a very easy product to use.Despite them being a pain in the rear sometimes, I do like the fuzzy little things, and safety was a pretty big concern for me. I certainly don’t want to hurt myself or my pets in an attempt to care for them. But I like this product in that regard. Nothing is fool proof, and it’s a metal blade, so there is inherent risk, but used according to the directions the product is well designed, and mostly mitigates the risk by way of the guards.I’m a guy, and I have pretty good sized hands, but not huge. The scissors feel a little small in my hands, the finger holes are tight. I kind of expected that, so it’s not a surprise, and I can make do, but it may be a concern for others. Also not a surprise, it’s only good for use in one hand. Right? It comes in left, and right handed versions and is obviously only capable of working in that correct hand. I’m not really ambidextrous, but scissors are something that I can, and frequently do use with my off hand, depending on which angle is best to make the cut I need. It would be super cool, (though honestly I think with the design of the product mechanically impossible) if it were ambidextrous. Honestly, it’s a good enough product that I might pick up a left handed one, for when that’s more convenient.I confess that I am unreasonably picky when it comes to grading any kind of scissors quality. To be fair, I’m used to judging them for either upholstery, or leather craft, so I’m not familiar with any inherent differences that scissors specialized for hair. That said, these are on the upper half of middling quality. Kind of “ok” to “fairly decent” rather than great. Time will tell though, they may surprise me on that front too.I’ve tried several combs and brushes and clippers and trimmers and scissors and all manner of gimicky stuff that’s supposed to make me and my cat happy and beautiful. These are hands down the best of all of them, in that, they actually did the job, and did it well.

Scissors aren’t sharp
I have to hold the hair to be cut securely between my fingers in order for the scissors to be able to cut it. Overall not a product that is useful.

Excellent Product and Customer Service
Don’t write reviews very often, but I need to shout out Scaredy-Cuts for going above and beyond with their customer service. My order arrived very quickly but one of the combs was broken. I emailed customer service and received a reply immediately, and a replacement comb arrived within three days, so impressed! Not to mention, the clippers work great and we can now trim those areas our floof would not allow before. Could not be happier!

Great for dogs afraid of the sound of shears
My dog has long, wavy, & fine fur that mats up unless religiously groomed. Unfortunately, heâs terrified of the sound of grooming tools. With Scaredy Cut I can keep him neat because he has little or no reaction to being groomed since the shears are silent.

They don’t last
I used them twice and after that they wouldn’t cut. MY pup acts like he has ants in his pants and will only stay still for about two seconds so I have to be quick when I try and groom him so it is extremely frustrating trying to cut the same piece of hair over and over. It was a waste of money I could have just bought regular scissors

Amazingly easy to use!
I bought this product to do trims on my silky terrier between visits to the groomer. His fur is easily matted and grows so fast. He is so skittish and hates being trimmed with scissors or clippers, but I approached this grooming session like I was brushing him with it and WOW it worked! A few treats, a few strokes with the clipper guard, and snip snip! I was able to trim nearly his whole coat in one sitting! The scissors are sharp but the guards keep the blades away from his skin so I don’t need to worry about accidental cuts. LOVE this product and am so happy someone thought of this!

I’ve used these before. But these ones didn’t work. Had to return.

Easy to use. Durable. Cuts well and is silent for the fussy dog.
