Soft and floppy, perfect for the healing wound on his upper back. He can function well with collar, eating, sleeping etc. And as a bonus, he looks like a beautiful, glow-in-the-dark flower ð¸ My ONLY request would be to have a non-Velcro version, as the ripping of the Velcro scares sensitive kitties.

So much better than a plastic cone.
I was a little skeptical about the depth of this cone, because our dogs both have the same neck circumference, but one is only 13lbs and the other is 20lbs and significantly taller. I was pretty sure it would work for Abby, the 13 pounder, but I wasnât sure about Bailey, the 20 pounder (featured in the photos). I still wasnât sure when I put it on Bailey, because it seems like he would still be able to reach his feet, even if it stops him from reaching other areas. However, once I put it on him, he tried to reach his back leg, realized he couldnât get to it, so he laid down and stopped trying. After 30 minutes or so, he hadnât even tried to reach his front paws, which is unusual. So even if it looks like he can reach the front paws, it seems to be a deterrent. As long as it works, Iâm happy! As far as other design features, I love that itâs super easy to put on, and way more comfortable than the hard plastic ones. Although Bailey looks dejected in the photo, heâs actually not seeming terribly bothered by it (itâs been on for about an hour). He tried to pull it off right after I put it on, and he would have succeeded if I hadnât intervened. I made it just a little more snug (love that Velcro!) and he hasnât managed to get it off. I love the nice soft fabric and padded feel – itâs a huge improvement on the ones the vets use. It seems to be well constructed, which is important since a cone tends to get some abuse when a pup has to wear it 24/7.

Soft and adjustable – not secure, needs collar loops
I am hoping to use this pillow cone on my pup while he is sleeping to deter him from messing with his surgical site. It might be a little small, short on my pup since his neck is a little longer and he has slender shoulders. He is able to slip out of this if he wants to.The longest part of the petal is about 5 inches. It is very soft to touch. I love that the Velcro is extremely soft and wonât hurt or scratch my pup.UPDATE: Medium does not work for my 5 lbs pup. It needs to be a little longer in length, because his neck is narrow but long. This cone does not stop him from reaching his neuter incisions. The cone would be more secure if it had loops to attach to a collar. As small as I can Velcro the cone shut, it still slides off over his head (e.g. when he bends down to drink water). He was easily able to slip out.I used it while supervising him taking a nap the first evening after surgery. It was soft for him to lay on and only a primer to getting used to a cone.
