Reliable Monitor, but Occasionally Has Connection Issues
We’ve been using the Owlet Dream Duo for a few months now, and overall, it’s been a game-changer for keeping tabs on our baby’s health and safety. Here’s what we’ve experienced:Pros:Peace of Mind: The Dream Sock tracks our baby’s pulse rate and oxygen levels, which has been incredibly reassuring, especially at night. We get real-time notifications, which gives us peace of mind while he sleeps.Clear 1080p Video: The Owlet Cam 2 provides crystal-clear video in HD, making it easy to monitor our baby. The night vision is also great, ensuring we can see him even in low light.User-Friendly App: The app is easy to set up and navigate, allowing us to check on our baby from anywhere, whether we’re in another room or out of the house.FDA-Cleared & Trustworthy: Knowing that the Dream Sock is FDA-cleared gives us confidence that it’s a reliable and safe way to monitor our baby’s health.Cons:Occasional Connection Issues: There are times when the baby monitor will disconnect, especially when the baby is downstairs. Able to sleep
Being a first time mom it is nerve racking and you hear so much about Sids that I didn’t sleep the first 3 nights of her life because I was always checking if she was breathing. So decided to by the owlet and it was the best decision I ever made. I slept the first night I bought it. I practice safe sleeping with my baby and this is a cherry on top.

Wouldn’t buy and wouldn’t recommend buying
I used the sock for about a month and from the beginning had issues. Over the month of using the sock, more and more issues popped up. Initially, it started with connection issues, we would have connection issues about twice throughout the night but it was something we could work through as generally it was when we were up with baby and in another room (just a heads up- if you are looking to buy this product, it does not keep connection in any room other then where the base is setup). However, as time went on these connection issues got worse and worse, it started having connection issues when close to the base and would happen at least 3-5 times a night. Then, after 3 weeks the battery no longer lasts through the night. It dies in the middle of the night after being charged all day and the app stating that it had the full battery life -claiming to last 16-18 hours- it would only last 4-5 hours. The straw that broke the camels back was when baby had a vomiting incident and stopped breathing. My partner asked me to check her owlet after getting her cleaned up and the app asked me if it could “send me critical alerts”. I’m very thankful him and I were up at the time the incident occurred as clearly the owlet would not have let us know something was happening. Needless to say, I’ve put in a return and went with something else. As a first time parent, if you are looking for more stress then buy this; otherwise I would highly advise looking into a different product.

Great at some things… terrible at others
So, as far as I’m aware this is the best baby monitor on the market. The sock works really well and they recently added more health tracking for it, which is nice. I’m a huge fan of the sock.That said, the app is glitchy and sometimes doesn’t refresh live data. The camera works well visually, but the cameras microphone is useless and inaudible when you try and communicate through it. I have fantastic WiFi and top of the line routers, so it’s not on my end. Also if you are not computer savvy, the initial setup could be a nightmare. The app would not work to connect it and I had to use a laptop and program the router from its IP address. Not something a lot of people would enjoy doing.It’s still the best at what it does. It’s kind of sad that it’s so poorly executed, you can buy $25 dollar security cameras that have working microphones, this is not a cheap set and it would be nice for the camera to work as well as the sock does.
