Osprey Standard
Little brother loves it. Easy and breathable, with the same legendary Osprey build quality. Water bottle options are a little small, but thatâs the only drawback.

Great pack for our five year old
I am a huge Osprey fan and was stoked that my son is finally large enough to use the Osprey Talon Jr. The pack has all the same features as their larger hiking backpacks and can fit a surprising amount of gear in it. Our son can easily fit his water bottles on the sides and it has plenty of pockets for all of his snacks. My only gripe is that I wish they had a larger color selection. Our other son will want one in the future and either he gets the same green one as his brother, or he is stuck with black which is no fun for a kid.

Great pack
We take these hiking a lot and when we travel. Itâs the perfect size for my kids to carry their own things and keep their safety items in in case of an emergency. I havenât bought the water bladder for them because we put the water bottles in the side pocket but I will be ordering that soon.

Great Pack for Kids
I purchased 3 of these for my children (ages 7, 9, 12). They are of average size for their ages. We used these as daypacks for hiking and beach trips on a recent cross-country roadtrip. My kids love them. They easily fit their rain jackets, extra clothes, snacks, and water bottles. They love the little sunglasses pocket and the helmet clip.

Smaller Version
Just like the big packs, but for smaller people. Works great for both my 8 and 10 year old, good size for a carry on, on a laptop, and it’s probably the most comfortable backpack they have. Great quality as expected from Osprey. Not a ton in the way of fancy features, but it’s a nice and light backpack with the AirScape back on it.

Just like mom and dadâs daypacks
This looks nearly identical to our talon 22 and tempest 20 backpacks, and our 4.5 year old son loves how he has one to match. Itâs a little big right now, but he doesnât care. I think it should fit him well in a year or two. There are some features omitted compared to the grown up versions but most are not missed – like an ice ax loop and hiking pole storage. However, it would have been nice to have zippered hip belt pockets. Things tend to fall out, and a zipper would solve that issue. I realize this pack needs to hit a lower price point than the adult versions, but I would find zippers useful. In terms of materials and build quality, I donât see any difference between this and the grown up models we have. I suspect this pack will enable and survive many adventures.

Great same backpack for smaller backs
This will prove great for an everyday backpack as well as the outdoors for younger kids⺠Build Quality & DesignI own several backpack by Osprey and I was happy to see that the same excellent quality is preserve for their junior range. There are less features than the adult size backpack but enough to keep that bag comfortable. My kid really like the all black design but I would have appreciated some color accent. Also some more light reflectors materials would have been great (though you could attach a blink light)⺠Comfort & PracticalityI really like Osprey back suspension, and although not as good as the adult version as the shoulder straps are not “suspending” it’s pretty well made for kids. It allows a good circulation of air and keeps you back pretty cool. There are a lot of small pockets to keep stuff tidy and having a complete separate hydration pack compartment will keep the stuff same in the other compartments from getting wet, though the hydration pack straw guide is pretty basic. The side pockets are made from stretchy mesh with no ability to secure them with a strap so smaller thing might fall. Also, the stretch might lose composure overtime. It was a bit disappointing not to have the rain cover included for such a premium product.Using this while riding a bike is also well thought through. You have a place to secure the helmet when not needed, mount a blink light for higher visibility and the hydration pack compartment.FYI, in the picture it’s on my 6 years old kid.⺠WarrantyOsprey is renowned for their Almighty warranty which where they will repair any damage or defect for free. Never had to use their service but it’s anyway reassuring to have this backing when buying a premium product. If they really stand behind their word it’s really worth itâ Pros: Excellent quality, Comfort, Warranty, Back suspensionâ Cons: Shoulder straps not as good as adult version, Not much of reflectors strips, side pocketsOverall its a really good backpack with some minor differences from the adult version. It will be great for an all day adventure urban or outdoor. Recommended!

Excellent Day Pack for my Preteen
I am a huge fan of Osprey as a brand. They put out a quality product and then stand behind it with a lifetime warranty that they actually follow through on without making you jump through a ton of hoops. This Osprey Talon Jr daypack is an excellent product. My 10 year old son and I have been getting out more and more and he needed something that fit right to help carry his supplies for the day (to get them out of my pack). This pack fit him perfectly after some adjustment. He loves it! He says it is extremely comfortable. After several day trips, the pack shows no signs of wear and tear. We just wipe it down with a wet rag at the end of our trips and it stays looking new!

My grandson was knocked out by the one I gave him for his birthday. Loads of pockets and zips and all in the coolest of black. I embellished it by a few coloured carabiners. Any more would have turned it into a âbag for babiesâ.

Fit my 13.3 macbook air. Good for daily use and a day hike.
