    The older version is better.
We love osprey products and have many packs from them.We wanted to take our almost 4yo and 5yo old a backpacking trip. We got this one and then the older version used. The older version had way better features and was better. But all in all great pack for kids. Fit all their own gear, sleeping bag, pad, water, clothes, food and snacks in it. Loved the hip strap. We had one from a different brand that didn’t have the hip strap and that made a huge difference. My kids hikes 1.5 miles each way and carried their packs the whole time! Thanks osprey for just a great product.

    Perfect Little Kid Backpack
I looked all over for a little kid back pack for my little 6 year old. It is large enough that she could put her sleeping bag, water bottle, and cloths in it. Attached her sleeping pad to the bottom and her big brother and I carried everything else. She and the pack did great, 3 day in the mountains. She set the pace, and her little back pack was great. For my 9 year old I went with a small REI brand kids backpack, but none of the packs that they carried would work for my youngest. I highly recommend this bag.

    Friggin’ awesome packs
So. We took these packs kayaking because we didn’t bring a daypack so we filled our kids’ packs with water and used these. Well, we all fell out. I thought our keys and wallet were goners, and we would be stuck 2 hours from home while we waited for new keys because our old ones were at the bottom of the Snake River. But, these guys floated like champs, probably because of the water bladders inside, and some kind people rescued us from ourselves. The packs dried out within an hour, they are perfect for my 6 and 7 year old, they can carry snacks and water in them. I would 100% buy these again, but I don’t think I will have to as we will buy bigger Osprey packs as my kids grow and pass these on to my 2 and 4 year old. Ospreys are durable and have an awesome guarantee, and I will definitely be purchasing more of their products.

    Great day pack for Littles
This is going to turn out to be a great day pack for my kids. It was very difficult to find all the features that I like in an adult day pack but for a child. The outside stretch pocket has plenty of room for a rain jacket or outer layer to stuff into. Dual water bottle pockets, a very minimal hip belt that flattens out of the way when not in use and I like that the hydration bladder is stored on the outside of the pack, so if you need access to it, you don’t have to dig around in the main pack to do so.

    Good for little ones
This is a good little pack for just starting out littles or slightly biggers that don’t need to carry much. I adjusted to the smallest possible for my average sized 5 year old’s first backpacking trip. His sleeping bag (Synthetic REI kindercone) filled up the entire pack, but a 5 year old can’t really carry much more than that anyway. He enjoyed being able to carry his snacks in the stretchy pocket on the back. It would be nice if the brain was adjustable but it’s not, so even as he grows he will never really be able to carry more than his sleeping bag unless we get a much more compact one. Even then it wouldn’t be much. We kept this pack over the dueter one because it was a little larger for longer term use, and it has a hip belt. In my opinion the price for this bag is pretty steep. I would not have expected to pay more than about $40 for a pack of this quality with these features, but it did seem to be the best option unfortunately.

    Expensive but worth it
Will always buy osprey when it comes to kids hiking backpacks. The quality is impeccable. It’s been dragged and thrown around and still stays in great condition. The open and closure takes some getting used to for the littles but otherwise great. Perfect size for older kiddo. Fits a ton of stuff.

Perfect for Small 9 Year Old
My small 9 year old carried this on a 2 night backpacking trip. It was big enough for her clothes, backpacks, and snacks and we mounted her extra shoes and sleeping mat on the outside. The frame seemed comfortable on her and was not too tall for her back height. The waist strap was a key feature I was looking for, and I was nervous about this one being mesh. However, it was sturdy enough to keep her comfortable. Highly recommend this pack for younger children, but it would probably be too small for the average 10 year old and up.

Just an all around great backpack
I bought this bag as a bugout bag for my son (who is 8 years old) that will double as a camping bag. You never know, folks. This bag is well-made and he absolutely loves it. I originally bought the teal version, but cancelled it when I realized that this bag would be better for less visibility if we were really tromping around in some dystopian future. Obviously, for normal camping purposes, you want high visibility, so I will be sticking an orange hat on my little guy. But the bag is great and I expect it will hold up like my two adult sized Osprey bags, which I’ve had for almost a decade.

My little guy loves camping and hiking and needed a bag in his size for our coming trip. This is perfect for his sleeping bag, mat, water bladder and extra clothes.

Perfect for my son to go hiking with. He’s been around 9 and 10 years old (around 150 cm tall) when carrying his sleeping bag and sleeping mat in this bag for several days in a row. No complaints, he says tja backpack feels comfortable to carry. Good top and side pockets for gloves, water bottle etc. Comes with a rain cover.
