Comfortable, versatile and packs a big load.
Used and abused it on an 8 day 40 mile trek in the Yosemite wilderness. Initially loaded up with food it was at 45 pounds then down to about 35 on the way back without food. Climbed from 4500 to 9000 ft elevation with it. It is very comfortable and easily packed all my stuff inside except my thermorest I attached to the outside using the 2 provided straps on the bottom of the bag outside the sleeping bag compartment. The only negative is the pockets on the side that supposedly holds the water bottle. It didn’t hold water bottles well and I actually lost the water bottle one day but found it on the return a few days later thanks to someone who found it and left it in plain view. Next time I’ll try the water bag compartment. But that seems like a pain to remove from a full pack to refill the bladder with water. Overall an excellent high quality backpack with nice features and plenty of straps and clips. I also used the daypack conversion. Worked great.

Single best item, I’ve ever bought !
It’s difficult to quantify how much this single item has changed my life! I got a crazy deal on it and if it was gone I would pay full price in a second for another! This bag can be medium size, large or huge. I’m a larger person and it fits me like a glove. It has storage pockets for anything you would want to store and it feels like a real life bag of holding, in the main compartment items smaller than a child will be offered to the abyss,it takes a moment to retrieve items. It can handle an insane amount of weight and not feel “heavy “- its a strange phenomenon. All I can say is if you’re thinking about a bag like this ….. stop wasting time, this is absolutely amazing!! Don’t forget about Osprey’s warranty! – it is “the way”

Great backpack for day or a light overnight trip
Great backpack: build quality, durability, style, zipper quality, weight, and functionality all fantastic. I wanted a quality lightweight backpack, that would last a long time. This pack is light weight, and very durable. Zippers are high quality, and the pockets are many and proportioned apspropriately. I researched a lot of styles and packs, and wanted a good size for daypacking and enough room to carry whatever I wanted. This pack has been great, has many different settings to adjust to your back size, and feels like its not even there. It keeps the weight off your shoulders and the mid strap helps weight distribution really well. It is somewhat rain and water repellent, as it rained during my last hiking trip and nothing got wet inside. Great pack, I will be purchasing additional hiking packs from Osprey as they last, great quality, and worth the price.

    Big pack
It says 100L, but feels more like 75-85L.Some of the gripes I have: the straps by the water holders on the side should have a buckle, so drink bottles can be strapped to them, the hip pocket should fit my phone… IDK why they made them so tiny. I have several smaller bags that fits my phone. The straps on the back to hold tent or sleeping mat needs to be longer. The vent area is decent, but I like the Atmos, LTD, Manta’s more (some of the other Osprey bags that I’ve had). The day pack is confusing to use… no instructions on how to install the straps, so I just tied them. But it is a pretty big day pack, which is a big +… probably 20L. When the brain is removed, the remaining cover doesn’t seem sufficient to cover the top.Very comfortable to carry, even heavier loads.Bag feels solid and other than all my gripes, it’s almost perfect.I can carry a lot without spending too much time squeezing everything in.I wished I bought this bag before I bought other ones. Just because you can carry a lot, you don’t have to fill it up all the time.

    Super great for hiking!
That was a birthday present to my boyfriend. We took the backpack to the mountains right away as it arrived. Earlier we had to take like 4 backpacks for 2 persons to carry all our stuff, now this one is enough.

Getting ready for the long hike on the Long Trail with Osprey …
We’re a family getting ready for a hike on the Long Trail. It’s 273 miles long and will take up to twenty days to complete. It’s on one bucket list, one retirement list, and has been hiked by many older generations of Vermonters for more than a century. And so, we need a backpack, a backpack that can go the distance. One friend, an ultra-marathoner, ran the trail in 10 days, but the most likely candidate in our family will be taking his time. It’s the dream and to achieve the dream, you need the best. I have one other Osprey and knew the capability. What’s great about this backpack is that it can be custom-fitted on the spur of the moment for different users. I can use it, a friend can use it, or yet another family member can use it. It’s really well-balanced and although it looks big, it’s big only in what it can do. The capability makes it a very versatile pack.If no one is on the Long Trail, it can be converted to a simple daypack by removing the top lid. This pack is for the trails, for the hike that’s going to take a couple of weeks or more. It’s got a 40-to-80-pound load range and a fabulous better than LL Bean warranty … for any reason, any product, any era. Just read up on the Osprey. Why settle for second best when it’s a one-time purchase?FEATURES:• Removable top lid converts to DayLid daypack• Included rain cover made with PFC-free DWR and bluesign®-approved materials• Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment• Floating top lid with lash points• Integrated cover for lidless use• Dual front panel zippered pockets for easy-access storage• Large front panel zip access to main compartment• Fabric reinforced front shove-it pocket• Large dual-access stretch mesh side water bottle pockets• Dual upper/lower side compression straps• Dual front panel compression straps with compression• Dual zippered hip belt pockets• Dual ice axe loops with bungee tie-offs• Zippered sleeping bag compartment with removable divider• Removable sleeping pad straps• Internal hydration reservoir sleeve
