Fits me and and I am tall and broad shouldered
While I really wanted a smaller, lighter backpack for trekking in Peru, this is the one I will be taking. All the smaller backpack were “one size fits most” backpacks and they don’t fit me. I am 6′ 2″” with very broad shoulders, and those other backpacks didn’t sit right on my shoulders or hips. This Osprey backpack works as it is tall/large. Yes, it is 3 1/2 pounds or so, so heavier than I wanted. But it fits, and it has lots of adjustments, so if I do need to adjust while trekking it, I can do it easily.I am probably going to carry a lot, lot less than the max weight of this backpack. More like 30 pounds rather 55. But as I have already written, the smaller backpacks seems more suited to smaller individuals.I also like the fact the backpack holds a water bladder and has a hole for the bladder’s water hose to go through. Very handy.

I’ve been looking for a pack for a long time and after extensive research, this is my choice.Fits really well, build quailty is top shelf and weight is evenly distributed if packed correctly. Straps dont dig in to shoulders or hips. I only have time to go out 1-2 nights so this pack is sorta over kill but I’ll be glad I have in when I go to BWCA. Would highly recommend

Used pack for 50 mile segment of CDT in Colorado. Pack was comfortable and able to carry food tent etc. without problem. May be a little large for ultra lite thru hikers but for me worked fine. One feature which was more an annoyance and took getting used to was the design of the pockets for water bottles. The cross straps that cross the pocket could cause difficulty in put bottles back easily.

I LOVE this bag!! It is so well engineered and it seems as if Osprey has thought of everything. This 55 liter Aether bag is super comfortable. It has many points of adjustment to easily make it the perfect fit. The shoulder straps are SO plushy and comfortable. The sem-rigid back is vented and perfectly designed for hauling heavy loads on hot days. Lots of well thought out pockets are in all the right places. Small details down to the zippers seem to have been perfectly executed. The only “problem” I have with the bag is now that I want it in a couple of different sizes for different kinds of trips.

As you hike, your hip or shoulder may get tired, and you can adjust the straps to put more weight on one, then re-adjust to alternate back onto the other. From time to time, you may have to re-tighten your waist strap.- Test the feel and adjustments by putting heavy items into your backpack and walking around for a while. Get used to the feel before you head out onto your adventures.You really can’t go wrong with an Osprey backpack (or Gregory). Choose the right look and feel for you as ultimately, you’ll be traveling with it for days on end out in the wilderness. You do not want to be stuck out with an uncomfortable or inadequate backpack.

Le numerose possibilità di regolazione permettono di trovare una aderenza ottimale alla schiena, ma altrettanto, le numerose possibilità di regolazione richiedono molti e attenti tentativi prima di trovare il punto migliore. Gli appoggi, sia sulle spalle che sulla schiena, una volta trovato il giusto assetto, scaricano bene il peso sul corpo. Il sacco è forse un po’ troppo lungo e stretto, questo lo rende piuttosto angusto se si deve andare alla ricerca di materiale all’interno. Sempre meglio optare per piccole sacche che facciano da scompartimento per una rapida ricerca. Molto comodo lo spazio inferiore dove riporre ciabatte o sandali per la fine del percorso. Il cappello invece è un po’ troppo lasco, se lo si riempie troppo risulta “ballerino” e, camminando, disturba un po’ perché dondola (non è gran cosa, ho trovato di molto peggio). Insomma, ho usato lo zaino in condizioni abbastanza tese, in un trekking di 5 giorni con minimo 25km al giorno e dislivelli importanti e si è comportato bene. Lo avevo caricato anche troppo, ero sui 12/13 kg (cosa da evitare), ma li ha retti bene senza distruggermi la schiena. Insomma, un ottimo prodotto.
