Good replacement bulbs
750 lights later these are a great value.So I have an older tree that seems a bit wider and higher quality than what you can buy from big box stores these days unless you spend $400+. With my tree I’m not sure what happened but somehow every single light on my tree, all 750, blew out. Somehow none of the fuses in the plugs had been blown from whatever power surge caused this.So I ended up buying two 400 packs of these lights to try and replace them. After doing about 40 I was ready to give up but my kids for some reason loved this tedious job of changing out tiny light bulbs. With them so excited to do this we spent the next several days and knocked them all out.As you can see in my picture they light up well and look good. Since I was replacing all of them I cant say if they would be the exact brightness of what you may already have but we’re happy with the brightness shown here. They dont get hot and havent blown out yet.As far as quality goes I had none that shorted out as I was careful to be sure I had each leg wire separated when putting them in the base. Out of the 800 I bought I only found 4 were broken or missing wires. Given the total amount Id expect a few to be bad so 4 is definitely a good amount.I see earlier reviews talk about quality and after using 750 I feel the quality is there. One thing to keep in mind is to check your cord or use manual to see what the specs on your existing lights are such as voltage. Just because it fits doesn’t mean its right for you. I bought these because they matched exactly what my tree user manual said a replacement should be.If you’re replacing a lot of lights that match these specifications then I think these will work great for you. Just dont get stuck replacing over 700 like me unless you have a few helpers around.

Worked great for one string of lights – but not another!
I have a 10′ string of lights that I bought about 15 years ago. I kept the box and the voltage rating of the bulbs wasn’t listed. I also have an 18′ string of lights that I bought about 3 years ago and it said 2.5V bulb on the box. Both were made by Holiday Time. Both have 50 bulbs per segment: 120V/50 bulbs = 2.5 volts per bulb. I won’t bore you with the lengthy troubleshooting I went through (FYI I’m a retired electrical engineer) but the conclusion is unmistakable: the Mudder 2.5V mini bulbs work great on the 10′ string but on the 18′ string, the new bulbs are dim. To take Mudder bulbs out of the picture, I took a good bulb from the 10′ line and put it in the 18′ line: dim bulb. I took a good bulb from the 18′ line and put it into the 10′ line and it blew out immediately. I see that in the summary of the critiques there were a few more positives than negatives but they were both pretty close to 50% which further substantiates the idea that there are at least 2 different kinds of lines from Holiday Time. I plan on calling their tech support to understand what the difference is and what kind of bulb I need for my 18′ line.

Arrived late
Waited weeks longer for these than everything else I ordered together, delayed even further past the expected arrival date, delivery was pushed back at least twice. Sadly the new bulbs didn’t fix my problem but it’s not the fault of the lights, as they do work when used in a tester but I guess I have a few dead sockets. Ordered Dec 6 with supposedly 2-day delivery, arrived late Dec 22.

Bulbs not consistent and hot!
Buyer beware. Not all of these bulbs are the same brightness. We made sure they were the right watts and voltage ect before buying but some of the bulbs burn very bright and get very hot to the touch. The hot bulbs will burn out after a short use of about an hour. Not worth the time and money spent to replace the bulbs on our tree.

Replacing about 800 ânot so greenâ mini lights on icicle decoration lights that are 15 years old. A lot of work we made for ourselves but worth it as we have lots of these so buying new strings would be ridiculous $$$. They are the same warm white as our old ones so very happy about the few whites that were burned and needed replacing. Very very happy with these. They came nicely protected in flat plastic boxes.
