All in all a good set for the money and worked flawlessly.
I donât write reviews but hopefully this is helpful to others since there seems to be a lot of spread among the reviews for this set. I bought this set of knives for my first year deer hunting. I have been working in commercial kitchens for over 25 years and wanted something only for hunting so I would not have any cross contamination with other equipment and I could abuse them without worrying of a huge cost as I have kitchen knives that are $200+ each. The Good: I was able to completely process a deer from field to freezer using only this kit. I used the caping knife, buck knife and bone saw for field dressing and quartering. I really only find the gut hook useful for spreading the hide, other than that I used the caping knife. The fillet knife was the only knife needed/used for processing. All the knives worked well and I didnât have any issues of wanting any additional knives or feeling they were inadequate for sharpness. I had hesitations of the grips being too slick but I never had one issue of slippage with any of the knives and they cleaned up easily. The included gloves worked well for field dressing but I used cut resistant cloth style gloves for quartering and regular nitrile gloves for processing. The sharpener is nice to have as keeping the knives sharp is a must to get through a whole deer and I donât want to use my stones or sharpeners on hunting equipment. The Bad: The only thing one would need in addition to the kit would be a butcherâs bone saw for processing as the one included is a little difficult to use on flat surfaces but completely doable as itâs the only one I had to do everything. The case is nice but is kind of bulky carrying in the field and I am looking for a roll case or something smaller for the backpack to carry only the knives needed for the field.

Handles aren’t very thick
The handles are a lot more flimsy than I expected. The blades feel sharp and durable but I am a little concerned about the handles breaking. The case they come in is nice and durable. Also slim enough to slide in a backpack. Pretty good set for the price.

Stores easy in vehicle and has what you need to field dress
I bought as a gift for the hunter in our family. It has everything in it you need to get your animal dressed. The case is great except for the one item that wonât stay in place (2nd picture). Other than that is is a good product

After last hunting season’s success, I realized It would have been easier to carry more than just the folding buck hunting knife with me, so looked at getting a few more tools to make the job easier.Saw this kit and decided to get it in anticipation of another successful deer hunt this year!!First of all, it all fits together securely in an easy to carry plastic case, everything needed to field dress. The knives seemed very sharp to start with and included sharpener is a must to have out in the field. The skinning knife, boning knife, rib spreader all seem to well made, full tang construction and nice fitting handles. The bone saw is particularly nice with a blunt end and not too long to use, much easier than having to use a hack saw!!The nice added touch is the thicker but still usable ORANGE rubber gloves, (I hope to use them this year, as they will be very handy!)All the knives came sharp and thin coating of oil on them which is the proper way to store knives to prevent rusting. All in all this is very well thought out kit and I am very happy with it so far, and assume it will function as it is supposed to!!! Hopefully will get to really put it to use this year.

I love this knife set.My mom bought one for me as a gift years ago. The ones she got me had nicer handles with better grip. But essentially the exact same kit, other than the colour/texture of the handles. I bought this new set as I misplaced one of the knives. I could only find the knife at the same cost as the kit, so I bought the whole kit. The handles on these are very smooth. Still a really nice set. I just preferred the bright orange handles with the nice grip over the smooth camo handles, which seem more likely I will lose a knife that blends into its surroundings. The knives are nice and sharp, and easy to maintain, they work great for processing animals. The sharpener works great, I use it to sharpen most of my knives at home. This is a great kit to buy someone as a gift.

All in all looks and feel are great. Only issue is the spreader does not fit in the case properly. But definitely not a deal breaker.
