Metropolis Slickers
Yearly, three buddies take a trip away from their wives. This yr, henpecked Phil (Daniel Stern), newly married Ed (Bruno Kirby), and Mitch (Billy Crystal) — petrified of his midlife disaster — determine to reignite their masculinity by taking a supervised cattle drive throughout the Southwest. Beneath the supervision of gruff cowboy Curly (Jack Palance), the lads set out on a journey that turns unexpectedly harmful. The three males bond alongside the best way to conquering their worry of getting older.
A Fish Referred to as Wanda
British gangster George Thomason (Tom Georgeson) and his hapless aide, Ken Pile (Michael Palin), draft a pair of conceited Individuals, grifter Wanda Gerschwitz (Jamie Lee Curtis) and weapons skilled Otto West (Kevin Kline), for an enormous diamond heist. When the job goes badly, Wanda makes an attempt to seduce George’s stuffy lawyer, Archie Leach (John Cleese), to seek out out the place George hid the diamonds. In the meantime, Ken repeatedly makes an attempt to kill an aged lady (Patricia Hayes) who witnessed the theft.

Funny movies
Both are funny movies. If you liked Monty Python, you’re going to love Fish. Billy Crystal fans will like City Slickers.

Two very funny movies that probably could not be made today. Get them before they are banned.

Subtitle problems
Regrettably, there are serious problems with the subtitles for these movies. City Slickers doesn’t have English subtitles at all, which makes it useless to me, and the subtitles for A Fish Called Wanda are out of sync with the audio. Pathetic!

Two of the greatest comedies ever made
Two of the greatest comedies ever made! A fish called Wanda will go down in history as one of the most outrageous stories ever told!—–or acted for that matter

widescreen version of …Wanda is letter-boxed to 4:3
I got this 2-DVD set primarily for “A Fish Called Wanda”, an English farce which is difficult to find for a reasonable price on Blu-Ray. I regret this.Good quality anamorphic widescreen DVDs are widely and cheaply available. This is not one of those. Avoid it if you care about picture quality. Both sides of the Wanda DVD, “standard” & “widescreen”, are formatted for old style 4:3 televisions. So the choices were 1) to watch the “standard”, pan&scan, cropped to 4:3 presentation with large black bars to the right and left on my 16:9 HDTV or 2) to watch the “widescreen”, letter-boxed to 16:9 presentation (uncropped, but zoomed out) with large black bars on the top, bottom and both sides. Both choices are unsatisfactory. No comment on the City Slickers DVD. I haven’t watched it.

City Slickers; a tale of men looking for meaning in their existence. Played by great comics to make it a funny 5ale of adventure and personal growth.A Fish Called Wanda; a great story of cons and a con changing on itself. Has been a family favorite for years. Am replacing a very used VHS.

City Slickers is mildly funny. A Fish Called Wanda is very funny. I don’t like have 2 movies in one package is the only drawback, it makes it problematic to find one movie or the other when you file them alphabetically on the shelf.
