These sticks are good for marshmallows and other light items, like a regular-sized hot dog.
The tubes aren’t heavy duty, so when fully extended, they will bow. Even with one hot dog that weighs @ 2 ounces, you can see a bend. I would set the “safe” weight limit at 4 or 5 ounces.
When extended fully, there’s a little bit of a rattle that you can feel. Even partially extended, there’s some rattling, albeit less than when at full extension.
The wooden handles have a clean, smooth finish. Each comes with a colorful, plastic cap. There are 12 colors that the kids can choose from.
The pitchfork is 3.5″ long. They have blunt tips to reduce any stabbing risk, but they still can injure eyes, so make certain the kids, especially boys, don’t engage in sword play with them.
