My search has ended! Love it!
I spent months searching for a replacement for my favorite St. Ives oatmeal and shea butter lotion when they changed the formula and broke my heart. I finally came across this, and started off by ordering a couple travel sized bottles of the different formulas from the BWC website to see which I liked best. While I do prefer the Extra Rich formula over the original fragrance free one, I found them both to be great products.I did notice the burnt chocolate smell that some reviewers mentioned, but it’s really not a terrible smell and dissipates very quickly. After using it for a few days, I don’t even notice it anymore. I’d rather have a fragrance free product that smelled like its fantastic ingredients than something with an overpowering fake flower smell. I added a few drops of jasmine oil to mine, just to make it my own. This hydrates wonderfully. Now that it’s winter, I wear so many layers and am in contact with awful, dry weather, but never find a single dry or flaky patch. Even after I rinse off in the shower after work, my skin still feels great without reapplying. I think I’ve finally found my new favorite lotion! My only suggestion, not a complaint, is that they use less plastic in their bottles. They are very thick. I always cut my bottles open to get every bit of product out, and it really takes some elbow grease to get into these bad boys. It also just seems a bit wasteful to use so much.Never change, BWC!

Why does it smell like coco butter?
Summary:The stars I knocked off are because of the mystery coco butter scent. Other than that its a good lotion, but I personally prefer their regular formula. It smells like coco butter to me and coco butter isnât in the ingredients list. I have a dog who is a sneak attack lotion licker. Heâs also only 10lbs, so I donât want him getting any coco products. So because of that concern, I havenât been using the lotion.I did use it when I first got it and it was a good lotion, but I like the regular lotion better. It moisturized well, it was non greasy, and it smelled nice, The smell did stick to my hands for a while and it was just on the edge of making me sneeze (Iâm sensitive to fragrance now, I miss all the pretty smells).

Best lotion for hands of any kind
I worked in food service for over 15 years. The damage hand washing has done to my hands is lifelong.Iâve used tons of non-vegan products on my hands (assuming theyâd provide the best results). After being bound to other lotions for years, I figured I might as well use something animal-friendly if Iâm going to be applying lotion dozens of times each day to little effect. With BWC, the results are incomparably better than I have ever experienced. I probably apply only three or four times a day, and I think some of this is force of habit. My hands are moisturized and never irritated. The lotion is smooth but not oily and leaves no scent. Itâs literally perfect. Iâll be buying it forever. Thanks, BWC!

Great lotion
Truly moisturizers your skin. The product goes on smooth and dries without that sticky feeling. Grateful I found this product that promotes gorgeous skin without harming animals. You will not regret purchasing this lotion!

Finally real moisture. Strange scent.
Excellent lotion, except for the fragrance.Rich and emollient. Skin hydration that really lasts. The scent is just plain weird. Hoping theyâll tweak the scent.

Absolutely LOVE this stuff and cannot recommend it enough.
I live in Colorado and the dry air kills my skin. I also have eczema. This lotion has single handedly saved my skin! I use the regular bwc lotion throughout the day and on my hands at work (I’m a nurse and I’m always washing my hands). I like to use the extra rich lotion all over before bed and after I shower. It absorbs fast and really does the trick. I was hesitant to buy it because I was afraid it would be too oily, but I was pleasantly surprised. I can’t recommend this product enough. It also has a mild shea/cocoa butter scent, but nothing that is artificial, added or irritating.

Unpleasant smell.
The lotion is fine except the odor. I like that it does have harsh chemicals.

Very good at hydrating skin
I use many of this brand’s products, and have used this lotion before, tried others, but have come back to this one. I find it moisturizes my scaly, flaky, winter skin without too greasy of a feel. The smell that some reviewers dislike, I don’t notice. But, I asked my son to smell it and he thought it was awful. To me, it has that earthy, shea butter sort of smell, with no fragrance to mask that. I also like the consistency of this lotion, not too thick so that it is easy to spread. I have a drawer full of barely used scented lotions that don’t do anything to moisturize my skin, but smell great, so I guess that it is all person preference.

The moisturising properties of this lotion are fantastic; unlike many lotions, the oils here actually seem to sink into my skin and last a fair amount of time. Unfortunately the smell is not ideal: it smells a bit like chocolate, which, while not unpleasant, is bizarre for a body lotion.
