This vacuum seals mason jars perfectly. Buy the Ball lids, though, or you will have failures. I use and reuse the Ball lids daily, as I use jars for fresh-cut onions, cheeses, crackers, trail mix, salsa, dried fruit, etc. It all stays much fresher than using plastic containers.

It is a bit louder than I thought, but it only runs for a minute, so Iâm fine with it. And it seems to work really great on widemouth jars but on narrow mouth jars Iâve had to run it twice to get it to seal. overall Iâm super happy and my spinach has stayed fresh for a entire week!

I’ve only used this a few times, but it works very well. I like that it accomodates both regular and wide-mouth canning lids. I find this super for keeping crackers crisp; simply store in a large mason jar. I plan to use it on lots of things that typically go south quickly. I water-bath and pressure-can food, so this is a nice addition to food preservation.

Itâs a satisfying small kitchen utility that youâll soon wonder how you did without for so long. No more bugs in your flour (even once is one too many). I use it for produce in the refrigerator and it doubles or triples the lifespan of it. I picked up 1 for each of my kids and for my sister who lives in Florida where humidity abounds. It plugs in to any USB port and battery life is good. To assure a good seal, be sure to routinely clean the rim of the jar and lid. The only time my lids didnât seal well was when some of the contents were on the rim, my bad. I just purchased a 25 pound bag of sugar (for feeding hummingbirds) and the summer humidity will not become a problem! Yay!

I can my own sauces and salsa using the hot canning method in large batches. A few jars inevitably fail to seal. I clean the rim and lid on those jars and seal them with this device. I put most of those in the refrigerator but tested a couple jars at room temp for shelf life. After a month, they were perfectly fine!I also use it to seal leftover foods, especially jams, jellies, sauces, and salsa and refrigerate them. It reduces food waste very nicely. (Note: I transfer the contents of store-bought leftovers to canning jars. I don’t think jars not rated for canning will work. I didn’t test that bc I suspect non-canning jars could break.)
