It works works, until it doesnât-updated review
So updated review the company that makes the product reached out to me, and offered to replace the product without any issues which honestly speaks great of the company and how well they stand behind their product. The product is amazing at its job and now with this new one I have high hopes that itâll continue to work just as well as the original item.âââââââââââââââââââââAssembled super easy, It was the perfect size for my iPad Air and my Kindle and my phone, The problem is, it was very stable and now itâs broken! I havenât had it six months and. The beginning part of it just broke it can no longer hold its shape. Very disappointed I know it wasnât the most expensive item, but I would have liked to have at least any years use of it before it breaks

This thing is awesome and I love it! …but not without shortcomings
I absolutely love this thing and use it all the time! It makes night-time browsing, watching, or reading SO much easier! I wouldn’t recommend it for something that requires a lot of interaction, unless you’ll be pairing it with some bluetooth device, as reaching up from bed will quickly tire your arms. The contraption does have some shortcomings, but for the most part they’re fundamental issues of engineering something like this. I think the one thing that isn’t, is the fact that they use a plastic screw-handle at the base, that according to many reviews is far too easily breakable, and I believe that (though I have not yet broken mine). If you take care not to over-tighten this part, I believe it can live on for a reasonable amount of time, but this is certainly the weakest aspect of the device. I imagine it was done to help keep the price at a reasonable level, especially considering how much metal must already be in it. But personally I’d pay the few bucks more for a sturdier, metal clasp at the base.Another common gripe about this device is that it will constantly slip downward from what you set it to. It’s certainly easy to configure it in a way that this happens; that’s not a fault of the device, but of the general problem of what you’re trying to get it do (I imagine a $200+ device might solve it, but nothing this straight-forward of a solution). If you think of it like an engineer (or simply heed the advice of the accompanying paper), you’ll twist it into a bit of an S shape to improve the stability of the form, or a spiral if you’ve the space. Yes, it’ll still slip slightly at first, and yes that uses up some of the available reach, but it’s a simple problem of gravity vs torque, and there’s no way around the necessity.Yet another common review complaint is that the neck itself may break. Presumably yes, if you continually twist in a single direction, or constantly twist and untwist it, it will break down fairly quickly – after all, it’s just a bundle of twisty metal threads, yes? For my part, I try to ensure as long a lifespan as possible by minimizing how often I reform the neck, leaving it in the shape it’s in when I remove it so that I don’t have to twist it back again the next time; and by first untwisting/bending it back to fully straight before reforming to a new shape. I imagine this is harder to avoid if you take it traveling a lot, however. With all these potential shortcomings, why is this still a five-star review? Because it just does such a great job of what it’s made for! It’s incredibly satisfying to use, and does exactly what I needed it for! And yes, perhaps it may break after half a year or something. Perhaps even only a quarter-year if I’m as unlucky as some of the other reviewers (though I do anticipate that the techniques above will save me from it being that soon, at least!). But so what? At this price?! I’d gladly consider a $5-10/mo “rental fee” for such a convenient (and now quite indispensable) device, so anything I get beyond a few months is bonus as far as I’m concerned. So if it breaks I’ll just buy another one (in fact I may buy a spare in advance just in case). So now you know: yes, the bad reviews are for the most part correct. AND all the good reviews too. It’s the best tool for the job (AFAIC), but it might possibly break. So what? It’s cheap. And still totally worth it. That’s my 2 cents!

Great until it isn’t
The product worked good. It was stable and held my devices quite well despite the neck constantly slipping downwards at times. However, after a few months of usage the metal rod connecting to the holder has snapped. It worked great and the customizable angles were awesome as well, but it seemed to ultimately break because of that in the end.

It Will Break
Let me start out by saying I have tried 2 other brands and this one by far is the best. have purchase 3 over the last 2 years and 2 of the 3 have snapped off at the same place. I rigged the first broken one with hose clamps however, the hose clamps and protruding metal is not ideal if you have kids or donât want to to get get injured if you bump into it.I threw out the rigged one and purchased a new one. Unfortunately the new has also failed and here I am writing a review.Letâs hope they replace 1 if not both of them.

How did I live without this handy gadget?!?!?!? But beware of defect…
I bought this tablet holder late last year in anticipation of spinal fusion surgery, but didn’t take it out of the box until a few months ago. A huge regret. This is one of those gadgets you don’t know you can’t live without until you start using it!Set-up is easy, lthough, it can be a bit tricky. I attach mine to my bed frame. You have to hold the base in place with one hand while you screw the round piece into place with the other, trying to keep the arm from falling over in the process. You get used to it.Given the fact that the base is round it is not surprising that stability could be better. If I tighten the round piece as far as it will go the arm will stay in place without damaging the surface of my bed frame. But as soon as I start manipulating the positioning of my cell phone, the round piece loosens and the arm falls to either side. The product is so useful, however, that this is a fairly minor inconvenience. I will say that the arm itself is extremely stiff. I’m sure this is necessary for holding heavier tablets. However, I have joint issues. Especially in my hands. It causes pain and weakness, so I did have trouble manipulating the arm.I would definitely give this product 5 stars for usefulness!1) I spend a lot of time in bed due to chronic health issues. I swear my cell phone calls to me. Maybe it’s the ADHD, but I can’t seem to watch tv without ending up “multi-tasking” on my phone. My pinky fingers will go numb from having the phone rest on them at an unnatural angle for long periods of time. This resolved once I started keeping my phone in the holder while in bed. As the product info explains, the holder is meant to be used for watching videos, etc. So typing will cause the arm to bob. I just lightly hold it in place with one hand. Not a big deal for occasional typing and much easier on my joints!2) MY EYES!!!! I set my holder up purposely so that my phone is at a healthy distance for my vision. Gadget screen use is a major cause of eye strain. I noticed a decrease in headaches and blurry vision from eye fatigue after using the holder vs holding my phone in my hand!3) There are times I have to copy info from my cell phone to my laptop. Before the holder I would have to prop my phone up on my bed and then have to keep moving my head from side to side trying to type the info before I forgot it. This can be a strain on the neck for those with cervical instability. The holder allows me to suspend my phone flush up against my laptop screen, which is incredibly convenient. I seriously can’t believe I took so long to purchase one of these things!Sturdiness is where this product loses major points. It is sturdy…until it is not. As you can see in the pictures, there is a weak point where the tablet holder meets the arm. One day I went to adust the arm position and my phone went limp. I was able to roll the plastic covering back to expose the metal underneath. It almost looks like someone took some wire cutters to it. If you read through other reviews you will see that this is a fairly common issue with this product. If you click on the link for the seller there is warranty info. You have 18 months to get a replacement or refund for quality issues. I emailed Lamicall today, so hopefully I will have a replacement fairly soon. My pinkies are already going numb again. I miss my holder!!!!

I previously owned a similar product, it was weak and unstable. After switching from a iPad mini to iPad Pro, I decided to purchase a more robust support. I was looking for something strong and stable. I researched and compared a lot of models and end up with this one. The high price was a concern initially, but I can say now that it totally worth it. This thing is built to last, much better investment than a cheap 20$ support that you’ll replace a few times and the risk of damaging your device. Highly recommended.

Quality is brilliant, the arm has girth, unlike someone I know but the clamp which holds it onto desk is very small and not adequate in my humble opinion
India Suter –
The only thing to be sure of that the clamp fits the width of the table or desk. The space I had in mind to use this, it was too wide and the clamp didnât fit. Aside from that, it a superior quality.

I really wanted to like this because I needed a flexible but steady mount for my portable monitor but this was a terrible purchase. The arm is too stiff to move but not stiff enough for stability. The base isnât strong enough to hold the unit in place for you to move around the arm which seems to defeat the purpose. The extension where it holds the tablet/monitor is not sturdy. It does what itâs supposed to do for now but I can see it giving out slowly over time. Overall, very unsatisfied but I damaged the arm trying to shape it so I canât return.
