All 3 knives are perfect for processing and all arrived with really good edges already on them. The bone saw could be a little longer but gets the job done and has good cutting teeth. The rib cage spreader is kinda a novelty piece Iâll probably never use but someone may. The sharpener keeps a good edge for out in the field. Probably wonât use the sheath as thereâs no good way to clean it. All in all I am very pleased with this set at least for processing out white tail deer.

Soo I do necropsies for a livingâ¦.
Necropsy(animal autopsy) and I know these are hunting knives, but I use them for soooo much more. I obviously use scalpel blades for the smaller cuts, but these knives have been WONDERFUL for the heavy duty stuff that I need to cut through. Perfectly sharp, feels sturdy. These get the job done.

Nice kit but, the tip broke on first use
I received the product as advertised and in a timely manner.I bought this for the purpose of skinning and field quartering an elk. I really like the variety of knives available in this kit as well as the canvas sheath for a lite- weight packing option. The sharpener is easy to use making it easy for most anyone to sharpen their knives ( I was even using it to improve my kitchen knife set).My issue is with the quality of the blades. Here is what happened:This hunting season I had a successful elk hunt. Out on the top of a mountain, I had to rely on this knife set to field quarter and bone out the meat of a cow elk so I could pack it out and take it home. I was able to begin the skinning process easily with the short skinning knife ( really like the grip on that one) and I was incredibly happy with its performance until I broke the tip off the blade. I didnât see specifically when it happened but halfway through the task, I noticed that the tip of my knife was broken off ( it certainly didnât come that way and wasnât broken before I started the task). Now I have used knives for a good 30 years and never broken the tip off one before. In fact, I only replace knives for functional reasons or because I lose them. With this purchase, I feel like either I got a defect or these knives are just very cheaply made.Ultimately, if the tip of the knife hadnât broken, I would give this a 5 star, and recommend them for others to purchase. Instead, I had to use my pocket knife to finish the job and now I feel that I must warn potential buyers of a quality issue.
