I called the number and after a short wait, I was connected with a very helpful woman. I explained the problem and she suggested some fix options, but none of them worked. She put me on hold for a few minutes, and then said that she connected with the return department, and that they would send me a new trimmer, at no cost. I gave her my contact information, and the return department sent me a request for proof of purchase. Fortunately, I bought the original trimmer on Amazon and I was able to find the original purchase order, which I copied. I sent a copy of the purchase order and within a day got confirmation that a new trimmer was in transit. Yesterday, I received the new trimmer, and it worked perfectly. Thank you Gillette.

Loved this kit. I do have a couple clunky plug-in, pro models. This is a lightweight version that does the job. Only complaint, is the battery life and charging. The battery is okay but goes from zoom, zoom to, zero without warning, dead is seconds. Then we have the charger. You plug it in and there is a little green lite that is constant. While the directions say don’t overcharge, there is no way to know and no indication that there might be a charging shut off. Really? I have to be home to guess when my razor is charged, or burning my house to the ground?

Cheap build and short battery life
The trimmer itself and adjustability features work well enough. The trimmer is lightweight but that reveals the big problem…the battery is too small. It is definitely not “1 charge = 1 month”, even under light use. Also, there is no way to tell when the trimmer is fully charged, and the charging cord is far too short to use the trimmer while plugged in. Some reviewers state that the trimmer doesn’t run when plugged in anyway so that’s a design flaw. While the trimmer does indeed “trim”, it is clearly not a robust unit and unlikely to last beyond a couple of years.Poor battery life, mediocre build quality, and the inability to use while plugged in means that this is cannot be recommended.Update: changed rating to one star due to the atrocious battery life. The trimmer has no exceptional features that mitigate the poor battery design.

Average battery life, blade isn’t as sharp as the previous model and you cannot use it while it’s on charge which is very inconvenient compared to the older model which you can. Spend abit more and buy the model up.
