It actually works, just not for thicker rods.
Had to give this product a full 5-stars all the way across even though I had to return due to it not working for my purposes. Inexpensive, sturdy, easy to install, innovative, space-saving and best of all- it actually held the rods very securely. I live in San Francisco with constant possibility of earthquakes, so holding power was first and foremost in my mind. To test I put a rod in the holder and shook it vertically, horizontally, and all over the place. It didn’t even budge from its position. I wasnt able to test long-term vibration forces but overall i am very, very impressed with the holding power.Unfortunately, the V-shape isn’t wide enough to hold my surf rods (main reason I tried it) so I had to return and purchase the orange/black KastKing vertical rack. If you install the V15 higher up on the wall and hang a thicker rod from further up it might work, but i have a low ceiling. My surf rods are St Croix Mojo Surf with a 70/30 split so the butt section has no thinner point to use. I have tried about 4 different styles of rod holders and was unhappy with all of them. This thing works great, holds my 9 different size poles with no issues and keeps them in place.

I love this rod holder by Cast King. It is simple in design and uses friction and rubber edges to hold our fishing poles. I also really like the size, it is not cumbersome on the wall and keeps things looking nice. I highly recommend!

Holders should protrude further from wall
Works ok for organizing rods, but the holders are too close together to accommodate spinning reels and they donât protrude far enough from wall to reach all the rods.

I fish in different waters for different species, so have a good number of rods of varying lengths, diameters and reel placement. I was a little skeptical/cautious when purchasing because KastKing claimed rods were held without support on the bottom. There is no need for skepticism! This product holds 9′ trolling rods with large line counter reels with no problem and also holds 5′ ultralight rods equally well. Rods ‘squeeze in’ quickly and remove just as quickly and easily. Because the rods can be suspended vertically staggered, I have no problem offsetting the reels/handles and can get twice as many rods in the same wall space as the Berkley/Rapala 2 piece rod holders that have foam rod supports. Simply because of this product, I have purchased other KastKing products and found them to be of tremendous quality and very reasonably priced. Kudos to this company for getting quality right and not gouging the customer on price!
