Feels solid and on/off dimming is nice!
Simple to install and is compatible with Apple HomeKit with no issues. I like how the lights dim on and off when pressing the switch (nice touch). Works great and great value!

Iâm switching to Kasa!
I recently bought these HomeKit capable dimmer switches to replace the WeMo dimmers I have been using until now. A couple of months ago, the WeMo dimmers simply stopped working correctly. No matter what I tried to reset them and reconfigure them, they refused to work.So I decided to give these Kasa dimmers a try since they were so highly rated here. Wow! These things are fantastic! The software set up is far superior. It is designed better. It looks really good. And the software does what it is supposed to. It works and it works well. The dimmers work excellently and I have zero complaints. Much more than I can say for the Wemo dimmers.I also bought a few of the Kasa smart plugs. They were a breeze to set up and work flawlessly.Going forward,, I will only be buying this Kasa brand. I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.By the way, these dimmers and smart plugs cost much less than the competition with no sacrifice in quality at all.

Solid smart switch
Overall itâs a pretty good smart switch. The installation is fairly easy and it was my first time doing any electrical home work. Took me about an hour. Youâll need a contactless voltage tester, so Iâd suggest getting one along with this switch. Make sure your switch box has a neutral wire before you order it. Most new homes have it.The docked star is for the app. When I first tried, the switch just would not connect to my wifi. I followed all the troubleshooting steps and nothing worked. I dug through some reddit threads and found that some people had similar issues on iPhones. The suggested solution was simply to restart your phone and try again. Shockingly that worked. No idea whatâs going on with their app, but everything worked perfectly after I restarted my phone. Devs: you should add this as a troubleshooting step. Donât leave us hanging. If I hadnât searched reddit I wouldâve never figured this out.Edit: The Kasa devices are now compatible with the Tapo app, which is far superior. Setting up anything through Tapo is seamless, so I’m giving the star back. I’ve been using it for a couple months and it’s been perfect, even through a couple power outages.

Constantly disconnects (UPDATE)
Once connected to wifi and Home app it worked great. The issue that I have is that it disconnects from wifi once a week and I have to hit the reset button. I have 2 switches and they both have the same issue. Their customer support is useless.UPDATE – After writing the review there were two updates. Since the updates they havenât disconnected. Changing from 2 stars to 4 stars. Thatâs because they are not easy to fit in the junction box.

Love the switches!
Easy to install. Our entire house is set up with these switches, using Apple HomePod. Voice activated on/off is super handy. Smart home recommended!

Great if it works, but terrible manufacturer customer service
Got this single one and a 3 pack to install 4 dimmer switches. 3 of them worked totally fine and hooked up to wifi no problem. This one didn’t. Tried tons of things, reseting it, putting error internet temporarily on only 2.4 gHz, switching it with another switch would never connect to the internet only connected to my blue tooth and setup always failed. The switch still worked but not the smart capabilities. I had registered with manufacturer and tried to do their warranty. They made me jump through lots of hoops to get them to send me a replacement device, but then wanted me to pay money first to send them the defective one. I no longer had the old switch this was on which would mean I would have to go buy a switch to use temporarily until I got a new smart switch. I opted to do the return through Amazon which is free drop off at locations after I ordered and received a replacement.Customer service with manufacturer was not very responsive and seemed to be trying to over complicate the troubleshooting directions in hopes you wouldn’t follow one step and they could get out of replacing. Was disappointed that they wanted me to pay for having to send them back their defective product.

Amazing Product
Installation of the product was simple and it works amazing! Integration with HomeKit is wonderful. You can ask Siri to change the light. I recommend using HomeKit and adding it to your phone’s control center so you can quickly slide down and turn it off and on. You can long press the button to control the dimmer. To use this product remotely and automate with HomeKit, you will need a HomePod or Apple TV. The other option is to use their app, which has slightly more control options.

Best Bang for Your Buck
Iâve been around the block when it comes to smart switches. My main house is all Lutron caseta, other house is Meross from Amazon, and I ordered these for my cabin in the mountains.Compared to the Meross, the design of this one is far superior. The Meross works great (as do all of the other ones) but I hate how it feels so cheap with 2 small buttons for the simmer. Plus I donât like that the Meross is matte white, not gloss like the wall plates I use.My favorite part of the design on this one is the small light on the switch when itâs off. It makes it easier to find the switch when the lights are off and you just walk into the house.Compared to the Lutron this thing still wins. I mean, the Lutron is the best smart switch I own but when you can get 4 of these for the price of one Lutron, I donât think Iâll ever be getting a Lutron again. The only parts that the Lutron still wins at is how thin it is (makes it much easier to fit into your electric box). Putting 2 of these in a 2 gang box is a pain because theyâre huge (like the Meross) but Lutronâs are just like a regular light switch. The other part where the Lutron trumps all of them is the remote control. I love having the remote control on the stand that it comes with by the tv remote, so you donât need to bust out the phone. So overall, this one is the winner in light switches. Donât get me wrong is you can afford Lutron all around, Iâd still do that but for this price range, nothing even comes close.
