Perfection!
Before I purchased this, I had one of those old-school ones that I had not replaced in years. I saw this in my travel somewhere and decided to pick one up to see if I would like it. I kept my old one just in case I didnât like this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. Itâs definitely sturdy and I love the fact that it catches all the cheese in the bottom and you can take it out and dump it into a bowl. It saves washing another dish or napkin. It just seems so simple. I canât believe I waited this long to replace my old one.

Along with my new healthy diet plan I decided to forgo bagged shredded cheese with their anti-caking agents & switched to aged block cheese that I shred myself every week or so. I have another like 9-in-1 shredder thatâs the shoe box style where the attachments lay horizontal on top but it makes an absolute mess with cheese. This box grater isnât perfect but for cheese itâs much better!!As you can see by my photo some cheese does still spill out but like <95% of it makes it into the inside compartment & is easily transferred into another container for storage. To help with the slight outer cheese droppage I stick the grater in my storage container so anything that falls on the outside is actually already in my container eliminating any clean up. Now if youâre trying to grate anything other than cheese I canât exactly speak for except zucchini.. that got extra messy, the pieces got super stuck in the grate so I had to spend a lot of time being very careful to get them out without hurting myself or otherwise wasting some food & for that Iâd much prefer my shoe box style multi grater.But otherwise it cleans quite well since the pieces clip off. I always toss both graters in the dishwasher (even if I only used one side as I donât feel like a sponge fully cleans them with all the lil sharp holes) then hand wash the body which takes 30 seconds. That part is also dishwasher safe but as itâs plastic the writing tends to come off much quicker if you dishwash it.
