A Lifesaver for Every Home – Govee WiFi Water Sensor 3 Pack Review
I recently purchased the Govee WiFi Water Sensor 3 Pack, and I can confidently say that it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for my home. These little devices are absolute lifesavers when it comes to protecting your property from water damage.Installation was a breeze – just a matter of connecting them to my 2.4GHz WiFi network (note: they don’t support 5G WiFi). Once set up, they worked seamlessly with the Govee Home app, allowing me to monitor the status of each sensor from my phone. The 100dB adjustable alarm is loud enough to get your attention, even in a large house. It’s a reassuring feature knowing that you’ll be alerted immediately if there’s even a hint of water where it shouldn’t be. The fact that you can customize the sensitivity level ensures that false alarms are kept to a minimum. But what truly sets the Govee WiFi Water Sensor apart is its ability to send email alerts. This means you’re not reliant solely on the app – you’ll receive a notification even if you’re away from your phone. This level of responsiveness is crucial for avoiding major water damage incidents. The sensors themselves are well-built and feel durable. They’re compact enough to be discreet, yet sturdy enough to handle any potential moisture. I placed one in my basement, another in the laundry room, and the third under the kitchen sink – all high-risk areas for leaks and water damage.Since installing these sensors, I’ve had a couple of instances where they detected water where it shouldn’t have been. In both cases, I was able to address the issue before any serious damage occurred. It’s incredible how much peace of mind these sensors provide. The battery life is impressive. I’ve had them for several months now, and they’re still going strong. The low battery alerts are another thoughtful feature, ensuring that you’re never caught off guard. In terms of value for money, this pack of three sensors is reasonably priced considering the level of protection they offer. When you compare it to the potential cost of water damage repairs, it’s a small price to pay for such a valuable safeguard. In conclusion, the Govee WiFi Water Sensor 3 Pack is a must-have for any homeowner. It’s reliable, easy to install, and provides an extra layer of security against water damage. Don’t wait until it’s too late – invest in these sensors and save yourself from potential headaches and costly repairs down the line. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to protect their home and belongings.

Work great! Caught a leak early!
Back in 2022 I ordered these water detection alarms with the intent to ward off major water damage if there was a water leak. I set them up by the washer and under the kitchen and bathroom sinks, and kind of forgot about them. The Hub is plugged in at the end of our kitchen counter, so I know by the light it’s still online, but don’t really think beyond that. Heck, I didn’t even name the sensors, so I didn’t know which was in which room.Fast forward to this morning and the dishwasher is running and all of a sudden this loud noise starts. I ask hubby what the noise is, and he gets up to investigate. He thinks it’s something in the dishwasher, but when he shuts off the dishwasher, the noise is still going. He opens the cabinet under the sink and the noise is louder. It was our Govee water detection alarm. It also sent me an email and push notification, but I wasn’t on my phone at the time. Guess what?!? Our kitchen faucet broke and was leaking. So today I got a new kitchen faucet! The good news is that there was NO permanent damage. I ordered more today for the guest house and for our other house. It’s a minimum investment for peace of mind.

Great functionality and app but not loud enough
I have other GoVee products so bought this to be able to use the same app. Function wise it works great. There are two weaknesses I see. First off, when it is triggered, it sends a notification in the app. I had tested it when I first got it but failed to clear the alert. So, when it was actually triggered by spraying water from my sump pump, the alert did not go off because it was stuck with the old one. I guess you can’t have two alerts at a time? Second, it is not loud enough. We have these down in our basement and if you are on a second floor room (like when you are sleeping in the middle of the night) you can not hear it. My wife only heard it go off when she was walking by the basement door. Of course if the notification has worked properly, I would have known right away. Thankfully it must have not been going off for long as not that much water had accumulated. My tip is to check the devices int he app to make sure they are online and working. I also noticed that the synch module goes offline a lot though I think that has to do with my WiFi. Because this only works with 2.4ghz, I had to connect it to my Guest network as opposed to my Wifi 6 normal connection. The 2.4ghz seems to catch interference a lot and go down, but it does come back online and the device connects back with no issue. Thankfully I don’t have to reconnect it every time it happens.

A Sigh of Relief!
Our neighbor with an identical condo had their hot water heater go on them – and found out when they got back from a trip. What a mess! The systems are new in the last few years – and apparently it was more of an install issue than the unit itself – but the result is the same – water in an area beside the kitchen and laundry room. My sigh of relief is actually 2 sighs – the first sigh was that I found these Wi-Fi sensors at a reasonable price – and the second sigh was that it did install with little fuss – despite requiring 2.4G. I, like most people, have 5G – and gadgets requiring 2.4G seem to figure themselves out – but some of the reviews made it seem that this Govee would not work unless I made changes to my network. I made no changes – I wouldn’t know how to. After install – I tested the unit – and it sent an alert to my phone via the app – and it sent me an email as well – so all seems good.

After 9 months of use, the gateway keeps on disconnecting without connecting back to the WiFi. Became useless.Contacted the seller for warranty. Was told to contact Govee directly, who said this seller isnât an authorised one and warranty is void… A joke… Avoid this seller by all means. The product itself is nice. Buy directly from Govee and youâll be on the safe side.

Just purchased, easy to set up and looks like it reacts quickly to water and the siren is loud – see my video. Someone had mentioned that the app didn’t track the battery life in the sensor, however it looks like they updated it because it’s there now – see my photo. Overall looks like a great product, looking forward to it doing its job.

Overall, these are good value with lots of nice features. But there is one really glaring missing feature that Govee needs to add if they want a full 5/5 rating:The android app does not show sensor signal strength to gateway, nor does it show status. So the app shows all the sensors regardless if the gateway sees it or not. So if a sensor is in a puddle of water but the signal is not getting through, you have no way of knowing there is no signal, and of course it does not signal that it detects water. So it creates a false sense of security.I have sent the suggestion to Govee support but no answer. I suggested showing signal strength for each sensor, status of each sensor, and an alarm option if a sensor drops off. I am hopeful they see the logic and add this feature to the app. After final placement of the gateway, I tested each sensor with a plate of water, at the sensor location, to make sure each has a proper signal where they are placed. A painfully tedious process to make sure each is within range, which could be avoided if I had some way of knowing the sensors have adequate signal strength. But even with that precaution, I have no way of knowing if there is a sensor barely within signal range. It is unfortunate that such a overall good system has such a glaring flaw.Otherwise I think it is a pretty good system. Instructions are quite good, so setup was quite simple. And I overall like how the alarm is audible, goes to your phone, and sends an email.Normally I would give a 3/5 rating for such a big flaw, but it is overall a pretty nice package so I give it 4/5.I am sure I am not the only one requesting these additional features, so I am hoping that Govee listens and adds the features in a future update.

We recently had our basement start to flood due to a slight failure in the sewer pipe. Fortunately, we caught it before there was too much damage, unfortunately, it still made a mess. As we were cleaning up I went on Amazon to look for solutions to prevent future problems. I narrowed it down to the Govee water sensor. The setup was fairly straightforward. I already had the App installed so it was one less step for me. I followed the instructions to connect the gateway and in less than a minute all three sensors were showing in the app, before I activated them. The one downside I noticed was the sensors names in the app didn’t correspond with anything on the sensor itself (SN, Model, etc), so I couldn’t tell which was which. I had to activate the sensor I was placing at the time to see which one alerted in the app. Not a huge deal but it wouldn’t have been difficult to make their SN their default name. The sensors have the capability of detecting leaks as well as floods. There are two contacts on top of the sensor that will trigger an alert when they get wet. Ideal for under cabinets or in areas that are prone to leaks (roof/ceiling in high wind rain storms, etc).An available mount would be beneficial for this product. I needed to mount mine in a drain hole (a hole in my floor where the sewer line goes out) so I could catch the rising water before it breached the floor. I had to manufacture my own, but a simple adjustable “L” bracket would have made a huge difference. Just something to keep in mind.
