They are soft
I used these on a litter a few years ago and liked them. I ordered, what I thought was the same thing, for my current litter. They were not. They were stiff – I felt very rough on neonate necks and also didnât stay on well. So I looked back to see what I had gotten 2 yrs ago and found these. They are great! Soft – no concerns about irritation to their necks. They have very good colors that are easy to ID (with the other brand, it was hard to tell if a collar was light blue, light green or yellow). And they stay on pretty well.Certainly the brand I would recommend and use in the future.

Great product
These work great and stayed on puppies perfectly. You can cut off the extra if you prefer but you can also just tuck it along the inside of the collar and it usually stays pretty well. Once they are about 4-5 weeks old the collar will stay on its own and you donât have to put the excess back anymore. The colors are nice and bright and many to choose from. The charts are great quality and durable. I definitely suggest this!

Perfect for whelping puppies
The material is soft and good Velcro. I ordered two sets and trimmed the ends of the first set to put on brand new pups, otherwise they wrap around 3 times and that isnât safe. Collars have been on 36 hours and mama hasnât taken off. Be sure to check as pups grow quickly that they arenât too tight.The charts are good. I would have them a little different but helpful for those without a system.

Not Great, Not Bad
Had to cut these down considerably for my newborn bulldogs, they wouldnât stay wrapped (to say nothing of difficulty of wrapping collars on wriggling new pups). Velcro snagged on bedding causing collars to come off. Not terrible, but not great. Fair for the price. Maybe Oder a few sets if youâre getting for very young pups so you can plan for needing to trim to different lengths as they grow.

Good… for a week
These collars are the perfect width and softness for new born puppies. But after a week, and having to unvelcro and revelcro to fit safely on the puppies growing necks, I found that the velcro got weak. A couple times I ended up finding the collars completely off of a puppy or two.Also, since I had to put the collars on immediately after birth to decipher the different puppies, the collars got extremely dirty from all the natural things that occur after birth. I tried cleaning them with wet wipes but that did not work. For the price of the collars with the record keeping cards, it was a good value. The cards are easy to use, sturdy, and brightly colored. The collars themselves are soft but in my situation only lasted a week.

Great for newborn puppies!
These worked perfect for my newborn puppies I had originally purchased a sturdier collar but even at their smallest all but one of my lab puppies had lost the collar or it was around their middle by morning.These collars are the best I cut off the excess since they aren’t made for hooking a leash to anyway and I will go to the other collar. The price is very reasonable they are soft and lightweight and easily adjusted, puppies grow fast! As I have to weigh the puppies every day the card that came with is wonderful with the collar color on one side and a place to write the daily weight gain .I would highly recommend these for most sizes of puppies I’m not sure about very small ones but possibly those too.

Iâd go with a different collar for long term use
Update to add Gamuda reached out. They make the sturdier version of this collar. If you were to use the velcro collar for the first week and trim it to size and then use their other product once the puppies are big enough (1-2 weeks old depending on breed) then it works out well. Great customer service.My girl had 13 puppies.We wanted to get something realistic, wouldnât hurt the puppies, and clear identifiers. We went with this one over the top compared one with slightly better reviews because this was a 15 pack and the other is a 12 pack for the same price.ProsVery soft. I wasnât worried about a puppy suffocatingVery long. Potentially could be long lastingVelcro- makes it easy to put the collar on. Newborn puppies means wrapping it a few times but then itâs on.ConsMaterial soils very quickly. I clean the whelping box 2-3 times a day. Most of the colors are tarnished just from the baby bodies. White and grey are hard to tell apart.The collars only have one small spot of Velcro- meaning any extra length hangs off very easily as seen in the pictures. It starts nice and tucked in but puppies move and climb and then thereâs a string trailing them. Not a big deal except the strings will attach to bits of Velcro from a siblings collar which causes distress cries.Length- because of how it goes on, Iâm constantly adjusting little ones feetâs that get stuck between the collar and the neck. Now again, super soft, itâs not harming the puppy, but it canât be comfortable.Iâm purchasing the one I should have bought now and will just have one collar-less puppy but less headache.If you have less than 15 puppies, go with the other brand.If you have anything smaller than a German shepherd- definitely pick something else.

Edit; The Velcro on these actually suck, almost every morning I have multiple collars off. Which is frustrating because all of my puppies look identical. I’m glad that I had taken photos of when they were first born so that I could try and figure out who is who. Not sure I would recommend these but I’m not overly sure on a different product to use.I’m currently in the middle of welping my litter of dalmatians who vary from 10oz to 14oz. These collars are really quite large and I’m having to cut them. Like a good 3inches need to come off or the collars are way too big with too much extra. If the velcro part was longer, you could probably make it work. So I will have to buy more collars down the road once they get bigger.Otherwise the velcro seems to be perfectly sticky.I love the charts that came with them, a nice card stock material to write on.
