Expensive, but very well made. Two outlet control a plus. Very easy to install.
2024-12-21I ordered these because I was at my wits end with ZWave receptacles. I’ve replaced two receptacles, 4 times each, with different brands over the past 4 years. These have all failed for various reasons. I started looking for something new when the last pair failed. These are my first foray into Matter/Thread devices. I added a SmartThings v3 hub to my environment over a year ago in anticipation of the future need of Matter devices. I finally pulled the trigger on these and installed them yesterday. These were by far the easiest devices I’ve ever included in to my smarthome environment. I installed them, turned the power back on and scanned the QR code. That was it, no cryptic button pushing to start inclusion. They were immediately found, drivers downloaded and that was it, now controllable in my app. Other than giving the devices a name, that was literally the full extent of the install. My only critique is that the manual buttons are a little difficult to press if both outlets are in use. Other than that, these are working perfectly.Now, the only thing remaining to test is the longevity. The build quality seems very good, so hopefully these will stand the test of time.

For set up, all you have to do is scan the QR code on the packaging and the device automatically add itself to your home app of choice.I was very impressed by the responsiveness of this outlet. The outlet contains the new Thread protocol, meaning it can quickly communicate with your smart home and other smart home devices without depending on your home Wi-Fi signal. This is great as I have used other smart plugs in the past that were slow to respond, making the experience frustrating. With Thread, you forget that your switch is a smart switch as controlling it is so quick.Another great feature about this switch is that you can pair it with other smart home accessories. I have an Eve Light Switch and Eve Motion Sensor. With the light switch, I can easily control the outlet like a conventional switched outlet, allowing myself and guests to easily control the lamp plugged into the outlet. But with the smart switch functionality, I also have the light programmed turn on and off when I am away from the house to make it look like I am home. Additionally, with the Eve Motion Sensor, I have setup an automation that turns on the outlet that the lamp is connected to, when motion is detected in the room. This has made my house feel so nice as I am always greeted to a bright room, and do not have to worry about turning on and off the lights.Overall, I highly recommend this smart outlet if you are in the market for one. Eve has been consistently reliable and has created many high quality smart products that I will continue to recommend.

Connection with Homey Pro was easy!
Connection with Homey Pro was super easy! The reliability and ease of control was great I had no issues with the Thread connection and the energy monitoring feature works great. I would give it five stars except for two things that really were not that great, otherwise it would be perfect. This outlet uses three stranded copper wires for neutral, line , and ground. I feel this takes up too much space in a crowded box by adding three wire nuts. For greater current handling capability and for better safety they should be terminals that you can clamp solid copper wire onto. Also using wire nuts to tie stranded copper wire to solid copper wire does not make a secure enough connection! Be careful if you use this plug with high current, the terminals will heat up.

The Best Smart Energy Outlet
I’ve used a few of these now for more than a year. This was my second purchase and I absolutely love these outlets. It was easy to replace my existing outlet with this one. I use these with my Apple Home app and finding and adding these to Home app was very easy. It always works and I’ve had no issues with it. I have created a schedule for this using the Home app and it starts my work computer in the morning and turns it off automatically at night. Highly recommend.

Eve products may be pricier than many, but they have always been worth their price for me and this is no exception. It paired immediately with all 3 matter controllers in my house, and power reporting showed up immediately under home assistant. Thread connectivity is solid, and I have no worries about the devices safety in the wall. It even shows Eveâs attention to detail with the toggle buttons/status light which can be turned off, and even a child lock setting that disables the toggle buttons. Absolutely invaluable for devices in a home with inquisitive young kids

I didn’t even install it. The Eve doesn’t have brass connectors, it has the stranded aluminum connections that that are common with fan controllers, lights, timed switches, etc.This is too cheap for something that could be carrying 1800W, especially at this price point.Returned.
