Lovely riding experience
Memorizing scenery! Wow! What a knockout! I watched this on my 40″ Panasonic plasma and it was stunning. I turned the lights off and it really felt like I was biking in the Alps. I had to force myself to do my cool down after 40 minutes riding. The time flew by. I always use my own iphone playlist so I haven’t even listened to it yet. I will though and update this review when I do. The production quality of this DVD is as good as I’ve ever seen. I own a lot of different cycling and walking DVD’s and this is one of the nicest of them all! I will be buying all of the rest of the Virtual Walks series. I am sure I won’t be disappointed!

Poorly Done For My Purpose
Very disappointing. I bought this to view when using my exercise bicycle. The scenery is lovely, but each walk lasts less than 30 minutes and has many edits. One walk on one of these “Virtual Walks” was 22 minutes long and had 14 scene changes. I did the math – that gave me an average of 1.57 minutes per scene. Most other walks had at least 6 or more edits. What were they thinking? Just as I was beginning to feel I was really cycling along that road, an edit would have me heading a different direction in another area of the region. NO, NO, NO!. If I truly was riding a bike on that road, I wouldn’t be magically transported elsewhere. As a former professional videotape editor for television news, I say LET THE SHOT ROLL. Since the speed is about 6 miles and hour, find a gorgeous area 3 miles long and LET THE SHOT ROLL. No edits! My ideal cycling video: 30 or more UNEDITED minutes of a gorgeous view – preferably with no cars, people, buildings or billboards. Then offer it in blu ray. (After many years working with videotape, I love, love love, HD and blu ray).

Marginal
This is a bike ride, not a walk. Not as versatile as described. Not worth buying.

Next best thing to being there!
We love every Virtual Walks DVD we have, and we have 7. Makes time on the treadmill interesting, and 20 minutes or so seems to fly by. High quality video shows many places throughout the world in a beautiful way, you can hear kids laughing, people talking, dogs barking. Tuscany is a gorgeous area of Italy, hopefully we can go there to walk in the areas shown in the video, thank you!

Not so Good
Kind of wierd . More like a jog with poor transiitons in scenery. Got it for my husband to use while on treadmill and he’s only viewed it once.

Virtual Bike Ride
I would say 2/3 of this video is more like a bike ride….1/3 is a walk. The scenery is beautiful and I would buy it again even though most of it is a little fast paced for me.

Prevent boredom!
As a retired flight attendant, I do enjoy retracing my steps in my favorite cities and nature settings. Helps with boredom on the treadmill. How about Paris?

B-O-R-I-N-G and Bad Cameroa Work
Very boring video with terrible camera work. First 10 to 15 minutes of farmland which looks much the same. Snooze! Then into a town, which isn’t identified. Scene moves along the street for about 30 to 45 seconds, then just about the time you say to yourself, “Oh look at that interesting buildind ahead,” the scene cuts to another scene, so you don’t get to see any more of that building. This cutting to another scene after a few seconds happens all through the video. Very annoying. The video makes 3 very quick passes by The Leaning Tower of Pisa, without stopping to admire the architecture, or identifying it. This is the worst walking video of my collection. I suggest buying Rick Steves Travels in Europe videos, or Virtual Walks. Not this one.

Makes walking on a treadmill less boring

These dvds are brilliant. I broke my ankle. I was told being nearly 70 that it was unlikely I would walk without a stick again. Physio was limited during the covid crisis and regular walking difficult, weather, terrain and inclination!Bought a cheap treadmill and one of these dvds 2nd hand to try to get me to walk 20 mins, every other day!A year later, still in lockdown, I am on my 7th dvd and jogging for half an hour. Don’t care that they are dubbed afterwards, keep making them!I would suggest they should be advertised for rehab as the lithe young figure on the machine on the cover is a long way from me and originally put me off!
