Puuuurfect!
This product lets me be away from my cats and know whoâs been eating and who hasnât. I can view the camera, call them through the microphone and dispense food as necessary. Best investment under $100.

It would have been better if the two feeding trays were controlled independently
MeritsProduct is well designed. Storage is good and a flavour-safe. Software is good but installation steps could be explained better. For example the WiFi connection could be explained in the sequence the operator has to input commands. Like wise, the two feeding trays could be separated by a optional opaque partition.

Happy with it!
Love that it’s a timed feeder. I’ve been needing one of these for a while for my cats. It’s also great for cats that need portion control. Love that I can have the peace of mind that there’s a 2-way power supply, so there’s always a backup in case one fails. The lid is pretty airtight, so it keeps their food fresh with no issues. And it’s easy to detach and wash in the dishwasher, which I love!

Great for travel days.
The cats get fed several times a day, so if weâre away from home for a whole day, the cats would be Very Unhappy without this feeder. I work from home, and theyâre accustomed to several small meals throughout the day. With this, day trips are a possibility. Keeps them from eating the whole dayâs food at five AM, while making sure they eat enough. Definitely measure a portion- itâs smaller than I expected. Easy to assemble, clean, and store.

When your cats like to eat you out of house and home you need something that has a little portion control. This feeder has worked great and now no one is fighting to get to the food bowl, because no one eats alone in this house. I love how secure the lid is and not having to worry about anyone breaking into the supply. It was easy to set up and program and gives us comfort when we leave the fur kids home alone for a little while.

Unnecessarily Complicated
I havenât had the opportunity to see how these work because setting up a schedule in the app is unnecessarily complicated. They did not come with a manual and I could not find help in the app to address the complicated set up. I came to my order screen and tried to troubleshoot through the link that does provide a âFirst time setupâ link. Unfortunately that link is specifically for how to put the food and desiccant bag and tells you to refer to the manual that it doesnât come with for setting up the schedule. Also a point to note is that I ordered 2 and neither came with a manual so it is unlikely it was a mistake.

No night vision
I suppose I should have done more research before buying but unless I just can’t find how to turn it on, the camera has no night vision so if the lights are off, you can’t see anything.

Comes in handy when no one is home
This automatic feeder is relatively easy to set up (the model I got has no wifi capabilities). Although it was at first difficult to determe how much one serving is, I discovered you can manually push some buttons to produce one serving and then extrapolate more servings based on that. So far it has been working flawlessly.I found two issues with this automatic feeder. First the battery compartment door would not stay closed after I first inserted the batteries, so I had to keep it closed with some tape. Secondly, the cannister that holds the food is always tricky and difficult to get off the base, so not sure what is the right procedure to prevent that difficulty. Overall this is a great automatic feeder that has come in handy when no one is home to feed our cats during the day. Now we leave it on even when we’re home and it’s so fun to see our cats make a bee line to the feeder when it deposits its food.
