It was very simple to put together and put food into the feeder.
The instructions were very thorough and included the QR code and photos to help get set up.
The App took a few minutes to sign up and it linked to the feeder immediately. It was very easy to set up times/days/ amounts to select for whatever my cat needed. I learned that 1 âamountâ to feed was a little less than what my cat eats so it was easy to make it âtwoâ in the amounts at a time. Overall, the app and setup was easy and quick.
My cat was a little reluctant about the feeder at first. The metal bowl was a little noisy when it put out the food and my cat wasnât used to the noise/ feeder. He adjusted quickly and doesnât mind it now! I also like the black sleeker color with the silver bowl, the modern colors match my kitchen and it doesnât stick out like a sore thumb. The only concern I have is when I installed the batteries the plastic around the battery slots/cover felt âcheapâ and wiggled a little, so I hope the batteries donât move around and not work if needing the backup feature.
I like there is a battery backup in case the power does go out. I researched it and even if there is no wifi, the feeder will still stay on time to dispense the food in case of power outages. Hoping that never happens, but it is reassuring.
Overall very satisfied with the feeder and itâs the perfect size for my cat.

Doesn’t close.
The app works fine, it dispenses when it’s schedule to, but there’s one glaring problem. The plastic container doesn’t screw into the base so my cat an just knock it over and boom he’s got a feast. There are little divets that should turn to lock in to the base but they don’t work. It’s not just me either, I’ve asked several friends and their boyfriends and no one has been able to get it. Save your money. Go with a different brand.

We have been looking to purchase one of these for a long time, but weâre unable to find one in our budget range. We actually use this for our small dog. It was easy to set up and works perfectly. Their customer service was extremely helpful. I spoke to a customer service representative, Kaia, for assistance in set up and she was really helpful.

OK for bird seed. Tank does not latch to mechanism.
I was doubtful that this would work with small-grain bird seed (much smaller than even sunflower seeds) but it does OK. If the birds were big enough or smart enough to upset the unit it would certainly spill seed out, but as-is it dispenses about 5 tablespoons with each actuation which is fine.
For dogs and cats, read the other reviews which point out that the tank does not latch to the lower mechanism, so if tipped over all the food will fall out – and some pets figure this out.
The tank mounting is in fact VERY poorly designed. The flat lid attaches to the clear tank with a simple twist-lock; no problem. But the tank attaches to a collar piece which just sits without latching in the mechanism body. That’s why the tank (with collar) can just be lifted or pushed off.
A crazy complication: The collar can be set into the mechanism in several different rotational positions (which isn’t apparent). BUT only one of those will allow the tank/collar assembly to mate with the lower mechanism. AND mine came from the factory with the collar at an unusable rotation. Added to this puzzle is the fact that the tank-to-collar twist lock is VERY tight and must be forced into place even after you get the collar rotation right.
The instructions say nothing about any of this. And after all that… the upper tank/collar assembly doesn’t latch to the bottom mechanism.
They could have omitted the collar and just had the tank twist-lock into the mech and it would be much easier to assemble and much more secure. Go figure.
The smartphone “Smart Life” app setup was easy because we have a wi-fi network. Don’t know how you’ll fare without that, which I think will fall back to using bluetooth.
So far I’ve used only manual feeding; not automatic / time so no comments on that.
I have the device powered using its adapter and wall power. I tried battery power (four 4 AA cells) but it didn’t work. However, though unused those are old batteries and may be weak so no judgement on that yet either.
Four stars for being a useful bird feeder. Probably three stars for pets.
