Kitties love it
Kitties love reclining and scratching this cute product. They lounge on it and bat around the attached ball. So far, it is sturdy, as it is taking the abuse of 6 kitties.UPDATE: Purchased August and trashed in October. The rope started unraveling within 48hrs of use, as it is hot glued onto styrofoam. Cats scratched it and there’s styrofoam everywhere, and I’m pretty sure it isn’t safe for kitties to digest. Poor quality materials and too expensive for 2mos of use.

Great Cat Scratcher / beds and no covered in sisal!
I bought two different versions of these types of scratcher/beds so I will simply repeat what I wrote in the other review as they are extremely similar in look, quality, size, everything but color. I got one in grey and in in brown. Both in size large.My cats have always loved those cardboard scratchers. They love to stretch and scratch as well as sleep in them. But the mess all of that shredded cardboard all over the floor is a pain to keep swept up. Not to mention I have one cat who feels he needs to get some additional fiber every day and he eats the shredded cardboard.These scratchers (I bought two very similar ones, this one and a second), are not only far less messy but are made in a nice oval shape, slightly beveled for comfy sleeping and are mostly made of sisal which cats LOVE to scratch. They are also very lightweight.One of my cats is a big boy so I made sure to find these bed/scratchers in a large size. He is twenty pounds and this size is perfect for him. Because the scratchers are concave sort of like a football stadium or an outdoor amphitheater they also fit very nicely for our eleven pound kitty.They did not have a weird smell when I unpacked them but I rubbed some catnip in the bottom anyway. It always gets the cats settled in to new beds or toys.We and our cats highly recommend these scratchers,

Very poorly made!
DONâT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I almost never review a product, but the poor quality of this cat bed and scratcher forced me to post. As others have mentioned, the sisal rope is barely glued to a styrofoam base and the fabric on the bottom might as well be tissue paper. The VERY FIRST clawing from my cat pulled up three sections of rope. If she wouldâve had 5 minutes alone with this, my cat would’ve shredded the styrofoam center all over the place. This manufacturer should be embarrassed by the quality of their work here.

My cats don’t scratch this too much but love it as a bed
I was looking for alternatives to the cardboard scratching posts that my cats love but that leave little flecks of cardboard everywhere. So I ordered this for them and when it arrived I sprinkled the included catnip packet on it. Within minutes the cats were all over it, and ever since I see at least one of them sleeping in it every day. They don’t scratch it too often, but they do here and there which is good enough for me.The only issue I have with it is I have doubts about its durability. Even with the minimal scratching my cats do, the individual ropes started to come unglued and lift off the backing quite quickly. But so far that’s only happening in a few places and the bed is still usable for now (I’ve had it for a few weeks), so time will tell how it ends up holding up.

Our cat absolutely loves this bed! He either runs and jumps in it to play as we walk by or heâs waking us up in the morning as he scratching at it first thing early or if weâre looking for him in the middle of the day heâs probably sleeping there. Itâs his first stop in the morning On the way to the litter box, Iâll stop and give it a stretch and a scratch. Then he spend some time napping in it throughout the day. Then in the evening when we get home from work, a little catnip, he loves to play on it and run and jump at it.I think itâs adorable with the little ears added in the attached ball tail. He doesnât play with that attachment so much because it gets too short, I think itâs absolutely adorable. Iâll probably buy more for another room in the house. It also feels and I think it will last for a while. Itâs definitely better than the cardboard refills for some time.

Love the idea, very poor quality.
This cat scratch bed looked nice, was a good size and the price was reasonable for $34 or so I thought…. I intentionally bought sisal for it’s durability especially compared to cardboard scratchers. My cats took to it right away without even adding catnip and they like laying on it. Unfortunately, within an hour of them using it the sisal started pulling away and revealed styrofoam underneath which was obviously getting shredded and made a mess everywhere. I don’t know why a manufacturer would ever think sisal could stick well enough to styrofoam to withstand cats claws. Sadly this was a waste of money and will be returned.
