Super fun and effective bug-catcher
I recently moved to an open field in a redwood forest and although I knew there would be bugs, I was at first underprepared for how many and different types would make their way into my home. This device is worth every penny! At first, I wasnât sure Iâd want the magnifying part, but I have found it surprisingly fun and enjoyable to look at bugs up close. Theyâre less scary that way when you can see their little faces. Iâve caught cave crickets (reader, they jump high and theyâre fast!), spiders, moths, and black beetles and helped escort them all back outside where they belong. I really am glad to have it at my side for bug evacuations. Iâd highly recommend it for anyone who has a bug problem like me or just someone with a curious kid, etc. Itâs great fun and it works really well!

Good bug catcher
Easy to use and very functional for watch and release of bugs in the house. Good value.

Love this!!!
Bought this for my 6 yr old granddaughter, she loves it! Weâve caught bees, hornets, wasps, spiders ⦠you name it. Easy to use and the magnification on the top makes it easy to see the small bugs. She is no longer afraid of bees. I like it because when sheâs not around playing with it, I use it to catch any flying bugs that have gotten in the house (my dog can open the doors) and I just let them go outside. Ordering a second one because my Grandaughter accidentally left it in the yard and it does not stand up well to a lawn mower. (;

works well
The Carson BugView Quick-Release Bug Catcher is a fantastic tool for catching and observing bugs without harming them. Itâs easy to use, especially for kids, with the simple trigger mechanism that safely traps bugs. The magnifying lens is a great feature for getting a closer look at the insects. Itâs durable and well-designed, making it perfect for educational purposes or just catching bugs around the house. Highly recommend for parents and curious kids who enjoy exploring nature!

Works great for trapping tiny critters in my house
My first “catch” was a tiny, newborn lizard. I didn’t have to chase him around the room, and he fit in there perfectly. Then I gently released him outside. Very useful tool!

Lifesaver
As someone who hates killing bugs at home, Iâm able to use this handy tool to catch them and successfully release them back to the nature. The design is kids friendly. Iâm so glad I found this product!

Amazing Tool for Medium Sized Bugs
I really loved this bug catching tool, the magnifier is very good and you can see the bug well. The downside was the trap door is a millimeter off the surface when the tool is pressed down, effectively trapping, yet making it difficult to actually scoop up extremely small bugs.

Excellent tool for the compassionate
For years I’ve been catching and releasing bugs in my house with a plastic cup and a piece of cardboard slid underneath. I do use Combat stations for palmetto bugs (giant roaches), and then the cup (or now this wonderful tool) to take them outside when they don’t feel so well. I kill mosquitoes, which are of no benefit to me or my dog. But all other bugs I prefer to catch and release instead of killing. This dandy contraption is just what I need–effective and easy to use. It just requires a bit of care if one doesn’t want to damage delicate legs or wings. There are times, admittedly, when I don’t want to look at a particular bug through the magnifier. Roaches are a prime example. It’s bad enough to see them at their normal size. Other bugs are more interesting to look at or even admire for a moment before releasing. Unfamiliar ones I might want to identify. This is altogether a useful and even fun tool. It would be a nice gift for encouraging compassion in a child. Squashing living things is a no-no to me, or even joking about it, and only dangerous creatures (like venomous snakes or spiders, or disease bearing insects) are dispatched to bug heaven, preferably without crushing. (Imagine if you watched a bug under the magnifier being squashed.) “Down to the tiniest insect, what every living being wants and tries to do is to enjoy real happiness and freedom, and to avoid suffering.” “Think, ‘May the needs of all beings, even the smallest insect, be fulfilled.’ââ (sayings of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche)

The kids love it to explore and see the bug through the magnifier and I like it too, when I have to catch and release a bug that has made its way inside the house.
