Misleading size chart
I am 6â4 182lb and ordered a large. One other reviewer said he has a 41â chest, so do I, and a large fit him nicely. The website also said a 41â chest falls into the large category. The large was too big. I would tighten the sternum straps all the way and it would be snug but still a little loose, and that was with no water weight. I sent the large back and ordered the Medium and it fits perfectly with plenty of adjustment room.

Love this hydration vest.
Bought this hydration vest to primarily use for my summer hikes, but I needed it this past weekend for a winter hike. It fit perfectly over my bulky Columbia coat and it was super comfortable. I was surprise that it fit over my bulky coat yet it also fit perfectly with just a t-shirt on. Iâm 5â7â 145 lbs and purchased a medium.

High visibility and carrying capability in a light vest
I was really shocked how light this vest is for the capacity it can carry. 30+ ounces of liquid is more than enough for most runs, even trail runs. The vest is also one of the most highly visible vests I’ve come across as well.Material quality and construction of the vest is very good, too.The one problem I ran into with this is that as a medium, it’s simply too small for me. This isn’t the company’s fault because their size chart is correct, I just mistakenly thought it would work for me.Going further on size, for the medium, it’s definitely not going to work for you if your chest is any larger than 41 inches so keep that in mind!Overall, I absolutely do recommend this vest, but again, be very honest with yourself on size because their size chart is strictly to size.Recommended4 starsCheers!

A year later.
I ran a 50 miler and several marathons using this Camelbak and I love it. It’s very light, durable, feels like quality in every aspect and it holds just enough water. Love it.Edit: a year later and this is still my main hydration vest. I’ve put at least 700 miles on it and I really can’t complain. Just got the 1.5L bladder for the back pocket and it fits perfectly. Well done CamelBak.

Missing lid
Product came with both bottles, but only a single lid. Really bad quality control for a name brand product. Otherwise is light weight and fits snug. Bought a medium, Iâm 5â9â 185lbs.

Comfortable
Ran a 15 mile obstacle course race with it and barely noticed it was there.

Frustrating, bad design
Nowhere to put a modern phone unless it’s very small. Why isn’t this a top priority? Who runs without a phone? The loop and clasp system for the front straps and the back compartment is nearly impossible to use. Did hamsters test this with their tiny hands? My hands are not big.It does seem like once adjusted it might work well IF you’re not using a bladder, because removing the bladder to fill seems very clumsy and slow. Also, I don’t see anywhere to attach the drinking tube on the front. It’s possible I’m not understanding how to use it, but it just seems badly designed. They should include instructions for every feature, the writing of which might illuminate the glaring problems with the product.

This hydration pack won’t carry everything, but that’s not the point. With the optional 1.5L bladder and the 2 500ml soft flasks, this pack allows you to carry enough water to spend the day in the mountains. There is also room for some light layers. Bear spray fits nicely on the side within easy reach. The loop at the top on the back is a perfect spot for a bear bell. It keeps it ringing as you run. The pockets for gels, phone, keys, are also perfect. It allows me to carry just enough to enjoy my day but not so much that I am weighed down. The fit is comfortable and light but a small warning as it does fit a bit big. I got the large but I probably could have gone with a medium. The large still fits me well but I have to tighten the front straps all the way to keep it snug and avoid movement or bouncing. When it is time for a new one, I will certainly size down and get the medium.
