My stroller has a monkey bodyguard now and it’s fantastic!
I never worried too much about parking my old strollers at theme parks until I purchased a brand new jogging stroller. I mean, I never left anything of value in the strollers when parked and used common sense, but having a well worn Chicco stroller that is several years old and an umbrella stroller, I figured I was pretty safe and no one would take them.Enter my Joovy jogging stroller. It’s awesome and I got a great deal on it, but if it got stolen, I’d be out a good chunk of change replacing it. I started to wonder- do people actually get their strollers stolen at theme parks? A quick Google search revealed that yes, there are some pretty messed up people out there who steal strollers and sell them on Craigslist or worse, take them WHEN THEIR CHILDREN ARE WITH THEM AND USE THEM! I was floored but apparently this happens judging from the anecdotes I read online. I mean, who teaches their children it’s ok to steal?Upon further Googling and coming across some *ahem* creative ideas like leaving a fake dirty diaper on my stroller to deter theft (um, no thanks), I came upon the Buggyguard stroller lock and promptly ordered one. Sure, I could have just bought a bike lock, but this little monkey is cute and straps nicely onto my Joovy when not in use. I read that locking the stroller to fences or posts in theme parks is a no-no (they will get out the bolt cutters apparently if you do this), but you can run the cable through the wheels, effectively locking the stroller to itself. Or, you could do what I do…Now, when we are at theme parks and the like, we bring the old Chicco stroller and the new Joovy jogger. I park them side by side and lock them to each other so they can (in theory) be moved by stroller parking attendants if needed, but someone trying to take the Joovy would look really stupid and awkward pushing it attached to the Chicco. So far, the added benefit is it seems the stroller attendants don’t move my strollers like they used to (probably more of a hassle than it’s worth to them). I also loop the cable through any bags I leave in the stroller (usually just water or glow sticks or whatever) to attach the bags as well. The lock is really cute and came with different colored bow ties. It is easy to use and the combination can be reset as often as you like. Once you practice at home a time or two, you will have the hang of it in no time. I just lock the strollers up, move on, and it only takes an extra minute here and there. Definitely worth the money and a bit of extra time for peace of mind that my stroller will be there when I come back. This little product is one of my favorite Amazon purchases and I would definitely recommend it to those seeking to protect their investment as strollers are not cheap!

I love my buggyguard
I purchased this stroller lock after realizing I wasn’t enjoying my outings to the zoo & aquarium because I was much too afraid to leave my stroller unattended. I own a Bumbleride Indie and I just couldn’t think of walking away–even for a minute–from my beloved stroller in a croweded venue. So after much research I decided to purchase a buggyguard and settled on the Monkey because it was on sale.I tested it on a recent trip to Sesame Place, during one of the busiest days of the season. I LOVE my buggyguard and I especially love the peace of mind it gives me. We were able to park the stroller and go on multiple rides without worrying about it “rolling away”. The lock is long enough to go around the two wheels but not long enough to go around both wheels AND a fence. However that’s really not a big deal as you can opt to strap it around one wheel/frame and a fence for added security. The rope isn’t very thick but it’s strong and does the job well. My only gripe is that the lock tends to jam and I had to jimmy the lock each time I tried opening it. I’m not entirely sure if it’s just user inexperience or if it’s the lock itself. However, I’ll have plenty of other opportunities to test my buggyguard so I’ll update my review if I encounter any further problems.Overall, I highly recommend this lock as an added security measure to protect your vauable stroller, especially if visiting an amusement park or similar. The peace of mind alone is worth it.

Easy to use, gives you a piece of mind 🙂
I got this after purchasing a rather pricey double stroller that I didn’t feel comfortable leaving unattended at stroller parking areas. This is a numeric combo lock (you can set your own number combo) with a 4-foot retractable cable that is covered with plastic, so it won’t scratch up your stroller. It has a tiny base that attaches via velcro to the frame of your stroller, so you won’t forget to put it in your diaper bag (it doesn’t interfere with folding the stroller up). It comes with different color bow tie stickers, which is cute. The device can then be detached from its base with just a quick press-and-slide and used to hook the stroller frame to a stationary object so you can leave and not worry about coming back to a missing stroller. This is going to work up until stroller thieves (just like bike thieves did) equip themselves with wire cutters as the wire is thin and could be clipped easily in a matter of a second, that’s why I only gave it four stars. In fact I talked to a Mom who sent his hubby back to get the stroller at Disney while she waited with the kids somewhere else, the Dad forgot the number combo and ended up having Disney staff actually clip the wire…It works well in my area b/c stroller theft is rare around here. So it is more to give me a piece of mind, hoping that if there was a thief he/she’d rather take a stroller that’s not anchored to a stationary object.

Great lock! A must have if you have a nice stroller. Worth every penny and a piece of mind. Thanks Buggygear for making a great looking lock, small enough but sturdy wire.
ImAceRad –
Great product, very strong and wire is long enough to lock my wheels together (on my bugaboo donkey) when we were at Disneyland as we werenât allowed to lock it to a fence etc. Small and compact, stylish, great all around product that I would highly recommend for peace of mind.
