my house doesn’t smell like dog
My question after owning 104 dog beds: can I wash the cover over and over and over, and will the interior retain it’s density? Yes! Dog loves it because it’s cushy and comfy. I love it because my house doesn’t smell like dog. I chose the medium size so Beagle can stretch out and watch her favorite tv shows and she was so pleased with it, she asked that I order another for her crate. The medium is a snug fit for the crate but works great. The thickness of the cushion has certainly made a difference in how she’s able to get up after lying for a long period of time. Again, and most importantly, I can keep it clean. The cover can be easily vacuumed and unzipped for washing. Pet owner tip: Walgreens sells hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle that you can use to spray the foam interior–or anything for that matter–and it will invariably remove any pet smell. Urine, poop, nondescript pet stink, whatever. Seriously, it’s the best kept secret. Doesn’t discolor. Doesn’t just cover up. Anyway, spray the foam bed, and by the time the cover comes out of the dryer, you won’t even remember you have a teenager. I mean a dog. Who’s bath time is the responsibility of your 17 year-old. Who’s like having a second dog. Don’t judge me. Kids are hard.Update: 2+ years and the bed inserts are still fluffy and the washable cover is still fully functioning. I expected the zipper to retire itself at some point, but no. I’m utterly impressed with this product. I have two of these beds. Both covers have been washed at least once a week for over two years. No seam tears, no fraying at the zipper. On another note, said teenager discussed in my original review, who is now 19 and a college sophomore was just home for break. Genius leaves a bag of M&Ms, a sandwich, and a Costo-size bag of Doritos in the living room while venturing back into the kitchen because he needed a 2nd Dr Pepper–after two Mountain Dews (Bad Mom award. I’ve simply given up the food battle. He’s 6’3 and has the physique of an olympic athlete so he’s believes he’s invincible. I don’t know if I’m disgusted or envious). Now, if you don’t have a hound, you will never understand that you cannot leave food unattended for even a second. Beagle ate the candy, ate the chips, and finished off the Mountain Dew. I mean, why would one throw away a mostly empty cans of soda on his way back into the kitchen? Oh, and she clearly savored both the sandwich and the delicious signature-stamped tissue it was wrapped in. This took less than 45 seconds. What happened 30 minutes later was that of a crime scene because Genius decided to jail the dog in her crate for behavior unbecoming and head upstairs. I’ll refrain from graphic details, but bed was duck taped closed inside of an industrial strength garbage bag and sent directly to the trash. Replacement ordered without hesitation. Posting another photo of Beagle after she’d plead guilty and suffering a binge hangover on her two year-old bed. And yes, you better believe I made Genius clean up the mess. Messes. Plural. For three days. “MOM! I need help! MOM!” Nope. Not a two person job, kid. Good Mom award.

Great dog bed durable
So, we have two big labs and we needed big beds for them. We ordered these and they’ve been holding up really well. Daisy, our white lab in the picture, loves to scratch at her bed before she lies down, but the bed hasn’t torn at all. It fits perfectly in their extra large dog kennels and it’s super soft and comfy. I would definitely recommend it to any dog owner! Oh, and it’s easy to wash too!For reference Daisy is 96 lb and very tall

This bed is really made well. I bought it to use in a crate but first I left it on the living room floor. All four of my dogs laid on it at some point, so it was a definite hit.Pros:~ The shredded foam gives âdiggersâ the ability to do just that, more so than with solid foam beds (which I also have).~ The removable cover is amazing. Easy to take off and put back on, and cleans up well. How do I know this? Because the second day we had it, my dog threw up all over it. Let me repeat: Second. Day. ALL. OVER. IT. I just took it outside, easily hosed it off, and then threw it in the washer. It came out perfect.Also, the zipper is on the 28â side, not the 18â side. This means thereâs no struggling to get the bed back in. I wish more manufacturers would do this.~ The stated size is the true size. The 28âx18â fits the intended crate perfectly.~ Itâs soft yet supportive. My dogs range in size from 12lbs to 26lbs and it has just enough give to be comfy.~ The top returns to itâs original shape after the dog gets up. It doesnât stay indented.~ The cover is soft and seems like it will be appropriate for year-round use. Our summers are hot as hell and I didnât want anything that was too plush.Con:~ The only negative so far is that the bottom isnât truly non-skid, but I donât really consider that a negative because no dog bed Iâve ever had has ever actually been non-skid like they claim.Bottom line – the bed is great, dogs love it, I highly recommend it.

This bed is so thick and plush and looks so comfy! My dog loves it. It it the perfect size for inside her kennel (though a bit hard to remove because itâs so solid) and Iâm sure feels good on her getting-a-little-older joints. The cover is easy to remove and washes/dries very well. Itâs also pretty tough and hasnât torn at all when pup starts the furious rearranging of her bed at night. My only wish is that it were waterproof. Liquid soaks through to the foam insert which isnât washable so you have to try to pat it dry and hope it doesnât get icky. A waterproof layer inside the cover would be 5 star worthy!

Bought 2 yrs ago, and it’s still amazing.
I bought this dog bed 2 yrs ago, I washed the cover today and thought I’d write an update. The filling has held up very well, I just take it out of the cover and shake it, but it never really goes flat. I’ve washed the cover several times and it always comes out looking great, all seams are still tight and no show of wear. My Cocker Spaniel sleeps on it nightly in her kennel, and when we leave during the day, it’s used daily and still looks great. The zipper still works as it should, I do zip the cover when I wash. Highly recommend. Great product. Would for sure purchase again, if this one every wears out

First off, this pillow / cushion / bed is sturdy and looks like itâll last for years. I donât know yet how water resistant or easy to clean it is. A little bit of background: We have a 20 pound rescue and a 10 pound rehome. Interesting mix, and good buddies at times, testy siblings at others. The bigger one got used to sitting with the front door open (screen shut) during the summer to watch dog TV almost all day. She loved it, and it was great for us because I didnât have to keep letting her in and out of the back yard in between our walks. The âopen door policyâ worked well in the warmer weather. Not now. And though it has gotten quite a bit cooler (read colder), sheâs not unhappy about it, so sheâs been pawing me to have her doggy door dog TV on. And because she does not sit on furniture (chairs, sofas, beds, even laps) thereâs nothing we could prop at the window for her to look out from as an alternative. So I decided that maybe sheâd be willing to try climbing a few steps to a magic perch at the window sill. And then she could watch the world go by at her leisure. So we had that built for her. Our little guy has it figured out and whips up and down without an issue. He just hasnât gotten the hang of sitting long enough to appreciate the view. But our bigger girl still needs to be plopped on the platform, then cuddled while sheâs sitting there. Itâll take time. The pillow is a good size for our little boy to sit or lie down on, but though our bigger girl likes curling into spaces this size (17â x 11â), I think sheâll just stick with sitting on it when she gets used to using it. (Downsizing to a smaller home means cutting corners where we can, so we didnât opt for a larger version.) And for those hoping for a really dense amount of foam for extra comfort, ours is more than the 3â deep size the information says it should be. Itâs 3-1/2â. And hopefully this pillow will help with our girl becoming a cat dog in the window. Itâs nicely constructed, seems very sturdy, and as someone else pointed out, the material is washable but not waterproof, so I put a waterproof pillow cover around the material encasing the stuffing inside the outer fabric. I would recommend it.
