Excellent teaching tool!
I love the size, colors, and storage options for these maps. They fold like real maps for easy storage, yet are sturdy and lightweight enough to easily hang on the wall. The variety of learning options was a happy surprise. I especially love that I can use them as illustrative teaching tools, yet they are easy enough to use that the kids enjoy them during free play as well. I’ve had them up for several months and they still get used every day. I’m extremely happy with this product and the learning opportunities it offers.

My son is obsessed with geography, so for his 5th birthday I gifted him this map. When it came the box was smaller than I had imagined and it said “for ages 3+”, so I began to doubt that this was appropriate and decided I should try it myself. I PLAYED WITH THIS THING FOR OVER AN HOUR. First of all, I have no idea how it works, there is SO much information packed into this little pen. Fun facts, geographical make up, music, I learned so much myself and I’m 37.The real kicker was…well there were two. First, we speak spanish in the home and this map flawlessly switches between english and spanish (indicated by the American flag and the Spanish flag which is a small detail, but not insignificant for me as we live in the US but speak castillian spanish and it is very rare here to find spanish represented by anything other than the Mexican flag).Second, included with the map was a separate sheet with a piano to use the pen to plunk out notes, listen to samples of different instruments, AND… hear various countries’ national anthems. My son gets so much enjoyment over listening to anthems (he’s a strange bird, I know, but I love him) and I think that separate sheet might just be his favorite part of all of it.I do not have enough good things to say about this product. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Definitely a hit!

Cute Interactive Mat
My son is really into maps, so we bought him this for Christmas. I’m not sure where the “paper-thin” reviews came from, but it’s more of a plastic mat and definitely durable. Easy to clean too!My son really enjoys being able to hear the names of different countries, as well as the sounds with the different interactive features such as boats, birds and sea animals. There are more features to choose from, including the capital of each country, flags and fun facts, but my son is only three and hasn’t been able to appreciate these features yet.The pen works really well and I can pretty much pinpoint everywhere easily. My only issue is that the volume is on the lower side, so in a noisy house, it can be difficult to hear at times. Overall, great gift and purchase!

Talking USA abd World Map
My grandson who is 7 loves these maps. This is what he is learning in school and he comes home and tell us about the different states and countries he has learned about, and how he continues his learning with these talking maps. He even has his 3 year old brother listening to his maps.
