Great kit for beard care
The NEWBLUECARE Beard Care Kit is a nice little personal care kit offered for a reasonable price. It’s a great combination of good quality items needed for proper beard care. There are two beard oils, one sandalwood scented, the other fragrance free. I really like sandalwood, so my first thought was “why would you want an oil without fragrance?!!” It then occurred to me that some are sensitive to fragrances, while others may have a preferred cologne that would clash with the sandalwood. The kit was designed to appeal to all, I like that. I found this sandalwood to be very nice. Both the oil and balm make the beard feel quite soft and conditioned. A good conditioning product is essential when you keep a longer beard. By the way, a small “guitar pick” is included with the balm (balm is also unscented) to aid in removing it from the canister. I think that’s great, it makes it easier and neater.A good quality wooden comb is also included in the set. It has two sides, a wide tooth side and one side with the teeth closer together. This set is being used for a big “Santa” type beard. The wide tooth side is great for combing through the thick beard, while the other side works fine with the mustache and shorter hair in front of the ears. The scissors are nice and sharp and shaped for precision. They have a slightly rounded tip though which I thought was a nice safety feature. They’re great for grooming touch-ups. I think they’re a decent size and should work for all but the largest of hands. A handy drawstring bag is also included to store everything in. This is great for storage and travel.All in all, this is a very nice kit, whether intended for personal use or a gift. The thought that went into it shows, it addresses many areas of beard care. I do wish a little more had gone into the packaging. Though packaged fairly securely it could have used better “presentation” for gift giving. It isn’t bad, in fact the color scheme and design is rather nice, but I’d want a nicer box if I was giving it as a gift. My husband was pleased with this kit
My husband has a red beard that can at times be unruly. Before this kit, he has used a bit of Argon oil from Trader Joes now and then. That’s the only he could really compare it to. He said he likes that there is a neutral scent since he doesn’t always want to be smelling a product, especially when he is eating. The sandalwood is pleasant but not overpowering.The first ingredient in the oil is grapeseed oil. This can be a controversial oil, but most of that controversy has to do with internal consumption. When I looked it up today I was mostly finding articles about it being beneficial because of the natural Omega in it. Regardless, it’s a base oil and my husband didn’t think it was that big of a deal. We struggle not to eat seed oils, it’s in everything these days. I don’t think it’s a big deal for external use. JoJoba oil is very nice.My husband said that his favorite part of this kit is the scissors. They’re a good size and they have been very convenient no have on hand and cut stray hairs, especially the ones in his moustache that would curl and go into his mouth. He also likes the wooden comb, but he uses it interchangeably with his plastic combs. But it is very sturdy and he said he has even used it a couple of times to get knots out of his regular long hair.He said it’s nice to have a care kit for his beard. He never really had one before now, but now that he has one, he uses it and doesn’t want to go back to not having the tools of the trade. He isn’t sure how he’s supposed to use the little guitar-pick looking thing. But overall he is pleased. He thinks the asking price is fair compared to other similar products he has seen on the market. He wouldn’t mind trying another brand just to compare, but he would also be happy to stick with this brand. He was non-commital, but he appreciates this product.
