Works ok but with some challenges
Itâs a straight forward feeder, easy to figure out how to take it apart. It doesnât plug into the wall, just has a battery option. So I donât have to worry about connecting to an app to program or internet connection to make it work. The programming seems easy until I get to the 6th time entry, when I hit the set button once my time is selected it suddenly resets all of my times, it switches times 1&2 and erases 3-6. It only works if I donât program all of the times. (Thanks to the other reviewer who said they had to do a factory reset a couple of times to get it to work, that helped get mine to work!)â¨â¨The cover seems to just sit on the center clock and doesnât latch in, so it will be really easy for my cats to knock it off and accidentally reset the sensitive programming unit. They may be able to do it even with the cover on, if they walk or sit on it. I had tried to put the cover on and was thinking it would latch in, so put a little pressure on it to turn it, then the programming reset!â¨â¨The trays turn from the left, so when the food is in and you want a specific food for each feeding this is important to know. Iâm still not sure how long to door remains open after a feeding. I came home after being gone one night and the door was still open 4 hours after the last feeding. It was only 3 out of 6, so not sure if that made a difference.

24 hour feeder
I love that this uses a stainless steel food tray and it is really easy to wash. I wish that it worked over multiple days, but it is really only a 24 hour feeder. I tried setting the timing so that it would feed at 6 AM, 11 AM and 3PM, then at 7 AM, 10 AM and 5 PM, but the schedule rearranges itself to be 6 AM, 7 AM, 10AM, 11 AM, 3 PM and 5 PM. If you have a chunky cat that needs little meals frequently throughout the day, then this is a good choice.

Wish it was plug-in instead of battery. Jams fairly often. Ice packs don’t keep food cold all day.
I wouldn’t rely on the cooling function of the ice packs for keeping the food cold, as they only last so long and they don’t give you extras to swap out.The feeder seems to jam at least once a day, which is frustrating for both me and my cat.I very much wish this feeder was a plug-in, not a battery, or only used battery power for back-up in case of power outage. As it is, having to keep batteries in it definitely increases the cost. I use rechargeable ones, but it’s still frustrating.

Use only if you’re home daily
The proper use of this feeder is if you have an animal that eats too much each time that you have to ration out the food across 6 feedings per day and you will load the feeder every day at the same time. However if you plan to leave your house for 3 days and then put a half day portion of cat food in each slot and schedule it to turn every 12 hours, that won’t work. You may as well just set out a big bowl of food and come home to the understanding that there will be a mess from your cat not knowing when to stop eating. There is also a such thing as “whisker stress” whereby cat owners use dishes that avoid causing cats to have to eat out of dishes that cause them to touch whiskers when eating. The hole that the cat eats out of would totally graze whiskers on both sides. And the trap door is useless. It has a latch that doesn’t really work. Any animal could just pull it open. And unless you intend to load up the tray for future use and then close the door and set it on the floor, I’m not sure why you would use the trap door anyway. With a simple programming change and no change to the display this would be a more versatile tool if it simply offered the option of turning the dish every specified number of hours. Also it needs 3-AA batteries so make sure you have those on hand.

Mine Didn’t Work
I ordered this automatic feeder since it was similar to another one I had. I thought I was careful to make sure the ice packs were flat in the freezer, but they were a little bloated, therefore I could not use them to chill my cat food. I assume it would work anyway, so I filled the compartments with dry food, but it did not. When I got home, I saw that the feeder did not move at all. The second time I tried it, I did make sure the freezer packs were completely flat but again the feeder did not move. I am thankful I had another feeder that worked. The programming itself was a huge challenge but I felt like it was properly programmed. I had also programmed for a test run, but something isn’t right. Since I can’t trust it after 2 attempts, I cannot take a chance anymore.

Great concept, but cat still not too sure about it
Got this for a cat that eats too fast. Was hoping that we could stretch the portions out to slow him down.This was fairly easy to set up and get started. Lots of space for small dog meals too.Our main trouble is the cat is afraid, even after he made his way to check it out, he is still super jumpy. He will eventually eat, but he does not seem relaxed. The cooler packs are nice, yet again I think the cat doesn’t like the cooled food. We did a variety of wet and dry, alternating throughout the day. Not sure if we will continue to use it though.Sadly, it seems like more work than just throwing his food in a bowl and spacing it out.
