I bought this feeder hoping I would be able to sleep thru the night with out my cat waking me to be fed in the middle of the night. It worked the 1st night, but not the 2nd. And it was a new battery.Returning.

I just wish it had a way to show that the battery needed changing and sometimes itâs hard to tell if itâs working because it is silent. But it works well for what I need it for.

Perfect for going out for the weekend!
I use my petcam to monitor it while I’m away. I have used it when out of town for 3 different weekends and it worked well. I could see my cat nudging it around but she did not break in.My one complaint would be that the ice pack and the area you put it in is tiny and doesn’t keep things actually cold. So to assure the food doesn’t go bad I freeze the food packet (Sheba) that is left overnight and refrigerate the one for later that day. Works great as long as you’re back within 48 hours.

The timer on the left broke, it just loosely spins now. Itâs hard to set the time accurately.

Simple, works well
I would not set this for 48 hours, not even 24. If you use this, get it for a few hour feeding span, for example, you leave at 7am and want to feed then at 9 or 10. The ice pack will not keep the food longer than that. Otherwise, it’s pretty simple. The timer is like a kitchen timer, turn it to the desired time. You hear a very faint ticking if you are right up on it. The lid opens and voila, food. Doesn’t make any sounds other than the opening lod which should hopefully be enough for them to go to it.

Looks like a great item to feed cats/small dogs for a day or two while you’re out
So far this looks like a great, relatively simple feeder. The only problems I have with it: The battery compartment cover is not quite right and doesn’t really work well. We got it to open & close & the unit works, but I would put a piece of heavy tape over it before I left to make sure my cat didn’t knock it around to get at the food earlier (as my last cat did) and knock out the battery. So that needs tweaking. Secondly, the instruction sheet that came with it didn’t match our unit. The sheet refers to lid-link clips, which appear to go along with a ‘tamper device’ they mention. Our unit has no such clips, and is not tamper-resistant. You put in the battery, fill & insert the bowls, the unit starts running, put the timer-lids down at zero & rotate them to the number of hours you want it to go till it opens. At that time they pop open. It’s similar to a device like this I had years ago. Worked fine and I think this will as well. It’s a nice easy solution to leaving a cat who eats it all up at once (like our chubbo Milo) over a night or two and spacing out his food. It comes with a cold pack for wet food, but I suspect the cold pack itself is too small. Also, my cat will eat dry left out with no issues but once any wet food gets out of the can for any period of time, refrigerated or not, he doesn’t want it. So, I wouldn’t use it for wet food anyway, but two good-sized bowls of dry food would be fine. Really the only problem with it was that we were confused by the instructions and the not-well-made battery compartment lid. With the discount (it’s now $24.99) it’s a nice way to leave our dude for a night or two without having to board him or have a pet-sitter. Definitely recommend this.

Unreliable At Best
I was so excited for this product because our cat wakes us up every morning when she deems it time for breakfast, but unfortunately, the timers simply do not work. Despite our best efforts, after a week of using this product, we have yet to see it open on time. I would say thereâs a margin of error of about an hour (so if you set it to release at 8:00 AM, for example, it will open any time from 7:00 to 9:00). This large inaccuracy makes the product not useable. Iâm not sure if we just got unlucky with a faulty product or what, but it seems like this was the cheapest option for a reason. I do not recommend this product.
