Great Feeder!
I was looking for an option to keep my cats fed while away for a couple of days and came across this listing with good reviews. After reading directions, set up was easy. The unit is sturdy and the lid takes a little force to open while will work great with cats. Portion size range is huge, I personally set ours to â5â. My husband got a kick out the fact I could record my voice calling them to eat and thatâs got to be my favorite part. Overall, I am very happy I got this unit and can relax on our weekend getaway.There was a suggestion to set it up and get your cats use to it a few days before you actually leave and I feel it was a good piece of advice. I normally feed my cats separately to avoid one hogging the otherâs food and this was what I needed to fix here because the two plates are very close to each other. My âhoggerâ cat was in heaven thinking he had two plates of food and my less aggressive cat was totally freaked out at having his plate so close to his. Luckily, I had a large, metal book end I slipped between the two plates and it worked like a charm. Now they canât see each other eating.

For cat owners that that have cats that require separate food bowls, even portions every time, and timed feedings without the hassle, this may be the option for you!I bought this feeder in late 2021 and have been using it daily since. If you want the short summary, it’s a great feeder and that has everything that you need. The bells and whistles are add ons that aren’t necessary but nice to have.This feeder has some really nice and thoughtful features that I wouldn’t have thought about until I had cats using them. The dispenser is inside the unit. So even if your cat tries to stick its paws in, you won’t see food coming out. There is a latch that clasps the lid close so that even the rowdiest of cats won’t be able to open the lid. Unit can run on battery or plug in via power outlet. I’d recommend just leaving it plugged in and the battery can run if/when you have a power outage. New units seem to include desiccant bag holder, which is a really good idea for owners who have humid households. Mine did not have it since I bought this a while back but I have never needed it as the food stays fresh inside the hopper. Lastly, when the unit detects that feed is low, it has a light that flashes to indicate that.Maintenance is very easy. There’s really not much to do. While the hopper is easily removable and can be washed, I have never felt the need to regularly clean it as I don’t see any moisture build up inside. The bowls are removable and I clean them every once in a while. They slide right back in once you’re done. As for refilling, if you fill up the hopper, it should easily last over a week. Since my cats don’t eat as much, a full hopper usually lasts me 2-3 weeks. This makes it very easy to use in conjunction with a smart water fountain and auto litter box.I only have one gripe about this product: the stainless steel bowls. These will definitely wear out over time. As your cats continue to lick the bowls everyday, the stainless steel bowls will, ironically, get stained. So at some point, you’d have to replace them. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer replacement bowls so you’ll have to find them yourself. Luckily, the comments section is pretty helpful. So it seems as long as you get a bowl that is 7″ in diameter and with a depth of under 2″, then it should fit.Overall, I’m extremely impressed and happy that this product has lasted me such a long time. And to this day, it has never missed a feeding schedule and remains my most reliable “smart” pet product that I own (compared to my auto litter box and water fountain).

On-Going Review. So Far So Good
MAR 2, 2024: I’ve had this feeder for a few days now. I bought the wifi version simply because it was on sale – I didn’t NEED the wifi version, but I figured that since it was on sale, it would be nice to have. At the time of this review, I give it 4/5 stars. 1) The set-up was relatively easy and quick to get going. Connecting the feeder and the app to my wifi was straight forward. The only issue I had was I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to connect to MY wifi or the wifi named “smartfeeder”. I had to connect to MY wifi, because it wouldn’t work if I tried the smartfeeder wifi. So I don’t know why that was even an option. But once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. Putting the feeder together was also easy. The only thing that even needs to be “put together” is the feeding bowls and the two-way splitters. These just slide right in to slots on the feeder. No screws or nails involved whatsoever. In fact, you don’t even need any special tools to put it together other than a flat head screw driver to put batteries in the bottom. The manual recommends that you use both the battery power and the charger power at the same time. Which makes sense, because if you only use the charger power, then your feeder will go down if the power ever goes out. And if you only use the battery power, the the wifi feature won’t work and you need to change the batteries every so often. So I have both power options going at the same time. The feeder uses four D-sized batteries, and the batteries DO NOT come with it. I knew this ahead of time and bought the batteries before the feeder was delivered. The two-way splitter is also nice if you have two pets that need to eat. I personally don’t use it because this feeder is meant for a specific pet I have. He eats special food that the other pets can’t eat. 2) Setting up the feeding schedule was also easy. As soon as my phone app and my feeder were connected, the time setting on the feeder was changed automatically to match my phone clock. So all I had to do was put in the feeding schedule. This was also easy to do: all I had to do was put in the feeding time, feeding portion amount, and then save it. Again, the only issue I had with this was how much food was dispensed in each portion. Because you can put any kind of small dry food in it, the portion sizes would be a little different for every food type. For reference, my cat eats a prescription diet of Hills Urinary Care (I’ve included a picture of his kibble next to a US dime and a centimeter tape measure for an easy reference for other buyers). Through a quick test run, I discovered that 6 portions equals half a cup of food. Or roughly 40-45 grams. Any pet owner can easily test this with their own food. Just manually dispense a certain amount of food, and then measure how much it is. My cat needs just one cup/90 grams of food a day, so I didn’t need long to test this. 3) I haven’t yet tried the voice message function because I do not want to use it. I keep the feeder close by my bed and I don’t want to hear myself yelling out to my cat at 6am. I will test it though and put it in a later review. 4) Even though I bought the wifi version, the feeder can still be controlled with physical buttons on top of the feeder in case the app goes down. Which I love. I was hesitant to buy the wifi version because of this very reason. I didn’t want the app to crash and not have a way of feeding my cat if I was ever away. The buttons on the feeder work exactly how the app does. You can change the clock time, set the feeding times, set the feeding portion amounts, and record your message with physical buttons. You can also use a physical button to manually dispense 1 portion of food as a little treat if you want. So in case the app ever stops working, you can still set feeding times. 5) And now on to the app. The app was easy to download (the feeder came with a QR code to scan to get to the app) and it’s easy to navigate. There aren’t a lot of menu options to get lost in, so I feel like even an older person could use it relatively easy. The app also allows you to name your feeder, which is nice in the event you have multiple feeders. And my favorite part of the app is that you can see a feeding log of all the times the feeder had dispensed food. This is such an amazing feature that will ease any pet-owners nerves if they are ever away and want to be sure their pet is getting fed. Just look at the feeding log and see if the feeder dispensed food at the time it was supposed to. And if the feeder didn’t dispense any food, you can just dispense it yourself instantly with the app. So, no matter what, your pet is able to get food when you’re not there. 6) The feeder holds almost 4 pounds of food. Again, this will vary depending on what kind of dry food you use. Because my cat’s kibble is pretty small, I was able to pack a lot into the feeder. I buy four pounds bags, and I could almost fit the entire thing. I only had a little bit left that wouldn’t fit. So if you have to go away for a few days, you can fill the feeder to the top and never worry about your pet eating all of the food and then going hungry.Overall, at the time of this review, I absolutely love the feeder. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my pet will always have a way of being fed.

Puedes hacer un horario de comidas sin ningún problema o dejar caer comida cuando tú quieras con pulsar un botón.Hay que configurar la hora con cada cambio de hora en España, obviamente no se sincroniza solo pero es muy fácil.Creo que puedes configurarla manualmente en el panel del comedero, sin usar APP.Puedes usarlo como comedor doble o con uno solo, tiene dos boquillas para uno o dos comederos. No es nada ruidoso pero, mis gatos escuchan el mecanismo cuando empieza a echar comida pero no molesta nada de nada. Inapreciable. El depósito de comida es bastante grande. Dura lleno sobre 2-3 semanas.Lo recomiendo al 100%.
