Endless uses.
As Iâm sure you can see from the reviews, this is a great buy. I keep buying more and more! I use some as light switches, but thatâs just the beginning. The things you can program these buttons to do can be very complex. I have mine running complex lighting automations, with functions that change throughout the day in a perfectly intuitive way. I have them hidden throughout the house to serve various functions. Iâve got one on my fan, and not only can it turn the fan on and off, it can also adjust itâs speed, and it can automatically switch between two set points where I want the fan pointed.Iâve even got one set up as an emergency button for my grandma. If she presses it, the hub plays an alarm, and everyone in the family gets a Critical Alert from the Aqara iOS app, so even if we have silent mode or do not disturb on, weâll know thereâs an emergency. It even works on Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac! One of these buttons could genuinely save a life. And I can feel safe relying on them, because I have a reliable internet connection both at home and on the go. The Aqara buttons are extremely responsive. Quick, reliable, well made, cheap, highly customizable, and they work with everything you could ever hope for.Especially once Thread versions of Aqara products arrive, Iâm gonna be loyal to Aqara for a long time. I just couldnât wait for these buttons to be Thread based to do it.

Reliable, great with Home Assistant
Used it for a toilet automatization. Gives option on single click, double click, long press and release after long press. Connects directly into Home Assistant, of course if you have Zigbee dongle installed.

Great wireless button, not always reliable
I just got into doing some home automation using Homekit and have found the Aqara devices to be a great group of products. First off, yes, you DO need the Aqara hub. The description is very clear about this, so anyone who is giving this product 1 star because of that really needs some help and is being unfair to the product.Once you connect the switch to the Aqara hub, what’s nice about it is that it exposes all three button modes to Homekit, so you can assign any automations you like with other Homekit compatible accessories right from the Apple Home app or other Homekit apps like Eve or Home+ 4.Currently, I’m using these to launch different lighting scenes in different rooms. The only issue I’ve experienced so far is the fact that they don’t tend to work all the time. You press the button and nothing happens. You wait and press it again. Nothing. Then it works the third time. Most the time, they DO work as advertised. I use the single press to launch one lighting scene, double press to launch a different lighting scene, and long press to turn off all the lights. Of course what you assign the button modes is completly up to you!Once last note about these is that since they use a Zigbee signal (I believe Aqara uses a bit of a non-standard version), the range is pretty good. My hub is upstairs and most of my sensors and buttons are downstairs, and all of them show signal strength ranging from acceptable to strong. I will only purchase wifi or zigbee based accessories and am staying away from Bluetooth only devices with their horrible signal ranges.

Super useful mini switch, easy to program, great value
I’ve been trying different HomeKit devices for the last few years and I finally decided to try the Aqara system. Along with the smart hub I also purchased the Aqara mini switch. Adding the switch into my HomeKit ecosystem literally took less than 30 seconds between when I opened the box to when I had the switch integrated into the Home app. True to its name, the mini switch is slim and small (but not too small), and the button doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy. It can have up to three different assignments based on the control (single push, double-push, or push-and-hold) and programming them is super easy – in both the Aqara app or the Apple Home app. The mini switch is great for use with devices where you might not have a wall switch nearby, or when there’s no switch at all; I’m using mine as an auxiliary switch for my bedroom lights. Yes, I can use the Home app but there’s nothing quicker than a small button on my bedside table when I want to turn all of the lights off ASAP! So far so good, I’m very happy with the Aqara devices – super quick setup, full compatibility with HomeKit, and exactly what I was looking for!

The Aqara Wireless Mini Switch is the ninja of smart home gadgets. It’s so discreet and unassuming, you might just forget it’s thereâuntil you need to turn off the lights without getting out of your cosy bed, that is. With a tap, double-tap, or a long press, it leaps into action, controlling your smart devices like a well-trained tech butler. And with its Zigbee connection, it responds faster than a cat chasing a laser pointer. Just make sure to keep it away from actual ninjas; they might mistake it for a new-fangled throwing star.

While the button functions fine and is ok for my use case this button is an old (2018) model. This limits your smart home integration to single or double click and long press. The newer button that looks identical has more options so more ways to control your smart home with a single button.
